Tactile Hardware

The functional component of hardware has tremendous impact on the aesthetic and also the experience of an interior by simple virtue that it will be touched.

Installing visually strong selections such as a large-scale pull will signify an entrance or a special finish will mark transitions between spaces. The wood entry door feels molded to your hand at Le Corbusier's Unite d'Habitation at the Cite de l'Architecture in Paris. We designed black lacquer doors for dramatic transitions at 540 West 28th Street and installed complementary knobs for a consistent aesthetic. Hardware can serve as the jewelry accenting millwork in a dressing room or as a bold gesture with unique furniture pieces. Serie Rare in Paris appropriately describes their hardware as "useful art".

We keep an eye out for door pulls and cabinet knobs with tactile qualities such as soft leather, textured horn, warm blackened steel, organic and biomorphic shapes, and also custom design integrated hardware into spaces and furnishings. These thoughtful elements enhance the interior experience.
