Edible San Francisco
San Francisco, California
We had some wonderful food experiences on our recent Curated. partner retreat in San Francisco. Bar Agricole was the architectural gem with great cocktails and the neighborhood atmosphere at Delfina was the perfect tone for an evening get together with friends. We docked at Hotel Vitale, so lunch at Boulettes Larder in the Ferry Terminal Building across the street was an easy treat. Delta is still talking about the brussel sprout chip appetizer at SOMA's Marlowe- light as air, crispy and salted to perfection! The crab lettuce wrap was another highlight.
We savored a coffee at Four Barrel- just a pour over-nothing else necessary. The absence of wi-fi or people staring at laptops helps create a true cafe experience with community and conversation. We were charmed by the clever outdoor seating with integrated bike storage. Our stroll through Hayes Valley was scheduled around lunch at Bar Jules. We smelled the aromatic "Chocolate Nemesis" on our way out and will save room for dessert next time.
We had the most fun heading out one morning to the 24th Street BART stop in the Mission district. OUR mission was to visit Dynamo Donut and Coffee, created by our friend and pastry chef Sara Spearin. With a dream of owning her own bakery and noticing the lack of well-crafted donuts in San Francisco, Spearin developed such flavors as maple bacon, strawberry early grey, and lemon pistachio. The 20-flavor menu rotates daily. We sampled a chocolate rosemary almond and a rhubarb while documenting inspirations in the relaxing back garden- and planning our next location!
