Curated Experts Can Help You Find the Best Bread Knife for You

A good bread knife will last a lifetime. Cutting through thick-crust bread is probably one of the most satisfying things you can do in a kitchen. But, cutting bread is just one task that a bread knife can handle. You can also use it to cut through lemons and limes for nice slices of citrus in your water, and you can even use it on tomatoes without worrying about your knife being sharp enough.

There are two edge options to consider when looking at bread knives. One is a rounded edge and the other is a serrated edge, and there are advantages and disadvantages to both. The rounded edge will have less tearing when cutting soft breads but can dull a little sooner. A serrated edge will do well with thick-crust bread, have a fairly smooth cut on soft breads, and have a longer-lasting edge. However, storing serrated-edge knives properly is important to avoid damaging the edge.
