I grew up in Washington state and starting fly fishing in 2003 after graduating high school. I started tying flies shortly after. Many of those flies can be found in trees along the rivers I frequented back then. I like to think that I am a better fisherman now, as more flies end up in the mouths of fish and not in trees.
For over a decade now, I've been calling Utah home. There are so many amazing places to fish in this state from my local waters around the Salt Lake Valley or up to the Uintas. I really love the time spent at local community ponds with my kids, in hopes of getting them hooked on this sport.
When it comes to fly fishing gear, I am the type of person who researches extensively before making a purchase. My friends often turn to me when they are looking for reccomendations on new gear. One of my buddies recently told me I should work at a fly shop to put this knowledge to good use but since I like my current day job in healthcare, I thought helping my online friends (you!) on the side would be the next best thing. Let's do this together!
