Andrea C.
I've been into bikes since I was riding a tricycle around the house. I was a shop rat, hanging around the local bike shop and finally got my first real bike as a birthday gift in my early teens. I've worked in some of the top bike shops in the US as a salesperson, mechanic (Shimano certified) and bike builder. I also raced road, mountain, cyclo-cross and track. Track was my main focus for many years and I was ranked 8th in the nation in two events back in the day and later invited to train at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs as part of the Western Regional team. I've been the Oregon State Road Champion and won expert class MTB races over the years too, including a 5th place a Cyclo-cross nationals (non-pro) at one time. I worked for several years at Specialized in Morgan Hill, California. My racing days are behind me, but not my love for cycling. I ride regularly, three to four times a week, provided my schedule allows. I also write and edit cycling-related web content for private clients, over 200k words to date. When not riding, I translate cycling-related documents from French to English and also have a team of cycling translators (such as myself) to handle other languages. My husband also rides, so we do it together.
