As a lifelong Alaskan, I have grown to love expansive wilderness and endless mountains. In the winter, my passions consist of backcountry snowboarding, snowmachine accessed snowboarding, camping / hut trips, no-boarding / powder surfing on the deep days, and more recently, speed flying ( most often on a splitboard). My love for snowboarding led me to work for Blister Gear Review, allowing me to test numerous boards, boots and gear from a plethora of companies. My scientific background (as a geologist during the summer months) kept me intrigued and constantly analyzing new products, technology and shapes to understand the product more throughly and excited to talk about and share my finding with those around me.
Currently a Girdwood resident, I am lucky enough to spend the winters enjoying the 700-900+" snowpack at Alyeska Resort and as well as the vast backcountry surrounding the area. Atleast once a season during the spring I will make the pilgrimage to Valdez,AK (Thompson Pass) to enjoy the formidable mountains and never ending glacial icefields.
