Camping started at an early age for me as both my parents and grandparents were outdoor enthusiasts. My first memory is hiking in Maine at about 6 yrs old. Day hiking and car camping kept me busy until my 40s. Then I discovered backpacking.
I've thru-hiked the STS (Susquehannack Trail System); an 83 mile loop in north central PA. I've completed the Allegheny East Trail in central PA; a 42 mile loop. One of my "go-to" places is the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area in WV.
This year (2021), I hiked the first 167.5 miles of the Appalachian Trail, including the 7.8 mile Approach Trail. I've done overnights on the A.T. from Springer Mtn to Port Clinton, PA.
Currently, I'm working on reducing my pack weight further. I hope to thru-hike the entire A.T. in either 2022 or 2023. From there, I hope to do both the PCT and the CDT. If all goes well, I may even try the North Country Trail.
Also on the bucket list is a visit to all of the national parks.
