The wilderness is my home, my vacation spot, and my church. It's where I feel the most in tune and the most like myself. If I can help even a handful of people get out into nature and experience the blissful oneness that I've experienced out there, I'll feel fulfilled as a hiking and camping expert.
I've been hiking and camping for my entire life, but over the past 5 years or so I've developed a burning passion for long-distance backpacking. In 2021 I thru-hiked the 273-mile Long Trail through Vermont's Green Mountains, and then I backpacked about 300 miles of the Colorado Trail from Denver to Monarch Pass. I've also done extensive backpacking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the Dolly Sods/Seneca Creek Wilderness areas of West Virginia, and many sections of the Appalachian Trail between Georgia and Maine.
Part of the joy of backpacking is simplifying life and learning how little you actually need to survive and be happy. It also helps you appreciate how valuable the few things you are carrying on your back really are! I love talking gear, so shoot me a message and lets chat!
