Craig Piefer
I am passionate about family, fun, fast and flow. I am married to my best friend and ski partner, we are raising three kids who rip. I run a little ski shop out of my garage were I tune skis, mount bindings, trim skins and sell skis. Over the years I have become an expert on kids gear to backcountry setups and everything in between. I love going to demo days and researching new gear and new tech. I have become a resource to skiers in my community using my ski knowledge to help marry the right ski to the right skier.
Curated super fun side-hustle for me, for my "real job" I work at Whitman College as a leader in the Outdoor Program. I run our large rental shop as well as out bike and ski shop. I also lead the skiing class. I get to ski around 50 days a year, about 15 of those days are in the backcountry.
I love to ski hard and push myself every run. Skiing almost killed me in 2016. On a snowy day I skied off an unseen cliff. I broke all my ribs on my left side and puntured my lung. Spoiler alert: I survived. Now that I am over 40, I still push it, but I make sure I can drive myself home at the end of the day.
I love to ski and I love to help others love skiing. I've got some grey hair and I let a Dad joke slip out every once in a while, but I know my stuff and I love to learn. Humbly, I think I can help you get the gear that will make this season your best yet.
