The first time I had ever heard of snowboarding I was in 12th grade. Some friends of mine said they heading up to the mountain after school and asked if I wanted to join. I said yes. They got me a rental board (I brought my snow boots because I thought I was supposed to ride in them lol), put me on the bunny slope, and showed me what a heel side and toe side turn were. Then they left to the terrain park. That was back in 2009 out here on the ice coast. Yes, I went to sleep that night with an ice pack on my 🍑. But, I also got hooked that day.
Since then I've become more and more obsessed with snowboarding and with gear as well. I even convinced a few of my professors in engineering school to allow me to do projects on board shapes and profiles. I've ridden the gamut when it comes to board shapes and profiles, from plane 'ol camber to rocker, as well as flat and hybrid profiles.
