After moving from Singapore to Colorado at the age of 6, I was quick to pick up skiing. Weekends were spent on the slopes of Winter Park, Copper or Loveland. Upon moving to Pennsylvania at the age of 13, I missed the challenge presented by the steep mountains of Colorado and decided to pick up a snowboard for the first time. In college I led rock climbing, mountain biking, and whitewater kayaking trips every weekend as President of the Pitt Outdoors Club and snowboarded at some of the best resorts in the east as a member of the Pitt Interscholastic Snowboard Team (PIST). Even with so much going on at school, I still missed the dramatic scenery and great snow found in the mountains of the western US. In January 2019 I left school and moved into my Subaru Outback with $300 in my bank acount and a Gearhead job lined up with Backcountry.com in Salt Lake City. I spent that winter reviewing 2020 model year Snowboards at Park City and the spring reviewing and racing Mountain Bikes. In May I ended up trading the Subaru for a 1986 Ford Van which I built into my dream travel vehicle and hit the road, biking and climbing at the best spots in the USA. This winter I'm settled down in Sandy, UT and working as a Ski and Snowboard tech at Snowbird resort.
