I'm one of those old school boarders that got into snowboarding when you had to drill your binding holes. I started out skiing and when I discovered snowboarding, it was an instant conversion. After all, I was a skateboarder for 13 years when I was younger. I ended up teaching snowboarding for a total of four seasons at various resorts: Mt. Bachelor, Hoodoo, and Sugarbowl, and Snoqualmie Pass. Was PSIA level 1 certified and considered getting level two but didn't. During the summer I worked seasonally for the Forest Service in the recreation field. I had some pretty interesting jobs like leading snowshoe walks on winter ecology on Mammoth Mountain. I did snow shoe walks as a park ranger for Olympic National Park too. I've spent time riding from Mt. Baker to Mammoth and even after riding for over 15 seasons, I'm still learning. At 54, I may not go as big as I used to but I'll never stop riding....
