Well it all started in 2009 at a thrift store. I came across an espresso machine that looked pretty fancy. So I had to do some serious research (Google). It was an older Rancilio Silvia. Wow! Now I can make espresso at home! Well in theory this was true, but I had no idea what I was doing.. So that was the beginning of my espresso journey.
Since then I’ve become a coffee nerd and to this day I can’t imagine getting up as early as I do without my morning espresso routine.
I’ve used and even refurbished many different espresso machines (manual, semi-auto, and super-automatic) and grinders to understand the ins and outs of how they work.
Whether you are new to espresso or a well established barista, I’m here to help!
Also, I am chef as my full time career. I love talking about food, antique (and current) kitchen wares, and of course knives!

I've been a coffee snob forever and was impressed to find someone through curated.com who is arguably a BIGGER coffee snob than I am. As mentioned in the headline, he was super-friendly, super-responsive, super-knowledgeable and a no BS guy.
I'd be hard-pressed to say this was anything other than a great experience from start to finish.

Great service and great recommendations! The only thing going against curated is the shipping. I could have driven to the Sur La Table a couple miles away from me and purchased the same machine for the same price and had it same day vs waiting a week for it to be shipped. Love supporting you guys though!

I’ve had several lower-end espresso machines over the past 10-12 years and decided to up my coffee game on a new higher-end espresso machine. I came across Curated and connected with John regarding my interests—honestly had no idea about Curated.com. John was so knowledgeable in this area and really steered me in the right direction. I loved the fact that we spoke over the phone and he answered all my questions on the Rocket R58 machine.
