I was born and raised in a small ski town in New Hampshire. My parents taught me to ski when I was 3 and I began working in the industry at 16. When I turned 17 my dad (an avid telemark skier) began bringing me on annual ski trips to Colorado, and I fell in love. I worked at my local rental shop for about 4 years before deciding to make the move to Keystone, Colorado. After moving around Summit County and working at different ski shops off and on, I had noticed that I was specifically being kept out of the "repair" parts of the shop, and being pushed to do more clothing and boot sales, despite me having years more experience than my male counterparts. Eventually I moved to Frisco and was finally given the opportunity to learn about repairing and tuning at a local shop. My entire experience working in ski shops had been backlit by men acting as if I didn't know what I was doing, and now I finally had the well rounded experience to prove them wrong. My goals as a gear specialist are to make ski shops a more excessable environment to all genders, and to truly find the right ski or board for the right person, rather than simply setting them up with the most popular gear. I currently reside in Leadville, Colorado, where I work at a demo-only shop and spend every moment I can skiing the trees and back bowls of Copper.
