Sean Harkins

I grew up skiing the hills of Pennsylvania with occasional trips to New England. I was 13 years old when I started skiing and 30 years later, it still puts a smile on my face. I will never forget my first day on skis; it was one of the the best days of my life and a day that shaped my dreams, my path and 3 decades later, that 1st day on skis still does.

After graduating from East Stroudsburg University, with a bachelors degree in Recreation & Leisure Facility Management, I packed up my Subaru Impreza and drove to Mt Hood, Oregon to intern with Windells Snowboard & Ski Camp. It was a summer sales internship that over the next 6 years, grew into a full time job as the Camp & Ski Program Director. In 2010, I moved to SLC, Utah to help develop and manage the international & domestic sales program for Saga Outerwear. Originally the ski & snowboard outwear brand was exclusively sold online, but with popularity and increased demand, we introduced the brand into the domestic retail market and international distribution chains. As the sales director, the brand had been sold into brick & mortar locations in 35+ states across the USA and international distribution partnerships were established in 20+ different countries across the globe.

Throughout my career, I have also worked in a number of retail stores, rental/demo shops, sales rep, manager & buying positions and had the opportunity to attend trade shows, demo days, professional competitions and other industry events. I've called Mt Hood Oregon, South Lake Tahoe and Salt Lake City, UT home, skiing countless days at my favorite resorts: Timberline, Ski Bowl & Mt Hood Meadows Oregon, Kirkwood & Sierra at Tahoe, CA and Brighton & Alta Utah. Ultimately, I traveled full circle, back to Pennsylvania, back to my roots. I still spend plenty of time on the slopes locally in the Poconos with trips to New York & New England. The terrain, snowfall and conditions do not compare to the western mountains, but I can still appreciate an icy, scraping slide around the turn or down through the glades covered in moguls and bare spots. I am looking forward to another season traveling and skiing around the Northeast. Working hard and playing hard has always been my idea of a dream lifestyle, and being part of the Curated team gives me the opportunity to continue to live this dream.
