I was lucky enough to be born to a family that pushed the value of having fun. Snowboarding, skateboarding, riding dirtbikes, backpacking, and all sorts of outdoor fun were a daily occurrence at our house. Growing up in a small town,my mom, aunt, and uncle organised the local Ski Bus that took about 100 kids up skiing and boarding every Saturday throughout the season. That was my first job! By 6th grade I was making copies and organizing waiver forms. As I grew up, it became more of a real job, coordinating events, getting kids informed, and working more directly with the Ski Area. Not a bad first gig and I got a free season pass out of it!
After highschool, I moved to Bellingham, Washington which was great! I was about an hour closer to the mountain I grew up riding. I made some awesome riding buddies living in a college town. Also around this time, I began making trips to nearby mountains for weekend trips. I'd ridden Baker, Stevens, Whistler, Hood, and most of the smaller areas in WA by the end of highschool. Since then, I've made trips to Big Bear, Big Sky, Mammoth, Schweitzer, Silver Mt., Sun Valley, Mt. Bachelor, Park City, Beaver Mt., and a handful more!
I've been a gear junkie ever since I got started riding about 15 years ago. I remember looking through gear catalogs as a kid, fantasizing about riding the newest boards or getting the newest tech in the sport. By the time I grew up, I became friends with a local shop owner and childhood me would be so jealous of the stuff he let me try out! I'm always stoked to talk to people about gear, trips, and pretty much anything that has to do with people getting out and loving life!..l
