About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the putter, which I tested in 2021.
My take
The Odyssey White Hot OG Rossie is a top-of-the-line, well-balanced, soft putter which can be used for any skill level. If a player is unsure if they like a large mallet or a blade, splitting the difference with this club is a great option.

How it performs
What I was looking for
I was looking for something to help correct the toe and heel movement at impact that I experienced with a blade putter I started with, especially out of fringe, long grass shots. Also, I wanted to be able to hit softer and hit longer distances.
Why I chose this club
I chose this club for the balance of each putter stroke, no matter the surface. Scotty Cameron Mid mallets would have been similar. I chose the Rossie for its lower pricing and similarity to much more expensive and top putters on tour, such as the Scotty Cameron Special Select.
What I love about it
- Forgiveness: The specifics of my club (Face Balance, Head Weight, Face Insert) help me to correct any imperfection I make.
- Weight: The balanced face weight is a must. It keeps the putting line and face straight at impact, keeping putts on plane.
- Alignment: With the double bend, I feel like I am right over the top of the ball, and it lines up between my eyes without needing to change anything about my address. It feels natural.
- Length: The 34inch club length is perfect for my 5’9” height.
- Aesthetic Appeal: To me, it just looks perfect without trying. It’s very clean yet simple, while also giving me confidence because of the alignment lines on the top of the head.
- Grip Feel: I upgraded from the typical stock grip to a different grip that I liked better. It’s all about personal feel. I’m a proponent of choose the grip that feels best if the stock one isn’t the one for you.
- Customization: The only part of the club that is customizable is the grip.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Face Feel: The putter can feel clunky. It doesn’t have the softest face. I know when I make contact, and I can hear and feel it.
Best Putt or Round with this Putter
My best putt was a 35-foot double breaker onto an upper tier of the green, on a course in Northern Wisconsin in early fall. I made my best-educated guess and needed to hit a specific point 10 feet ahead of me, and this putter gave me the confidence to hit the perfect spot. The ball dropped in the cup.
Value for the money vs. other options
This club is a great option for everyone. In my opinion, upgrading my putter was the best investment I could make. It also costs less than the similar Callaway Toulon and the Scotty Cameron Mid Mallets. Scotty Cameron putters cost $400 new minimum. This putter is only a little over half of that.
Final verdict
The Odyssey White Hot OG Rossie unlocked confidence I never knew I could have on the green while also delivering the performance of more expensive brands.
