About this Review: This review is my fianceé's honest opinion of the putter, which she purchased with her own money in August of 2022.
My take
Anyone can be an outstanding putter, regardless of their handicap. My fiancée started golfing two years ago and was using an old putter, but in order to keep improving her touch on the greens, she needed a club with a soft and consistent feel. The Odyssey Women’s White Hot OG #1 Wide S Putter delivers these qualities at an affordable price and will allow her to unlock her potential as a putter.

How it performs
What she was looking for
My fiancée is hooked on the game of golf. She’s been playing for two years now, and she’s been improving in all aspects of her game. Her previous putter was a 35in Titleist Dead Center SP-209, which was fine for getting into the game. But now she needs a putter with a soft, consistent touch that will allow her to keep improving.
Why she chose this club
My fiancée likes a blade putter, and some of the best blades on the market are from Odyssey, Scotty Cameron, and Bettinardi. The Odyssey was much more affordable, plus the reviews about the touch and feel of the White Hot OG putters are superb, so that made it easy to go with the Odyssey.
What she loves about it
- Face Feel: The White Hot insert put Odyssey on the map in 2000 for its consistent feel and soft touch. The White Hot OG brings back that same insert, and the result is an incredibly soft touch that inspires confidence—especially on the tricky downhill sliders that require the perfect distance control.
- Forgiveness: The insert on this putter is huge. It basically covers the entire face of the putter. This means that when she strikes her putt off-center, the ball connects with the White Hot OG insert and she gets a consistent roll every time.
- Alignment: At address, there is a thick, black line on the back of the club that runs right up to the back of the face. This makes it very easy for her to feel confident with her aim so that she can take a smooth stroke with the putter.
- Aesthetic Appeal: This club is absolutely beautiful. It has a classic look with a matte silver finish that reduces glare. And even the weighted inserts on the sole of the club have a stylish, futuristic appeal.
- Grip Feel: The Odyssey Oversize grip in silver and black is clean looking and does not distract from the club. Plus, it fits my fiancée’s hands perfectly and has the right amount of sticky tack.
Issues she’s encountered
- Weight: The putter looks like it would be heavy, especially with the wider blade. However, it feels lighter than expected. My fiancée is used to a heavier putter, so the lighter White Hot OG has taken some getting used to. It currently has 10 gram weights inserted on the sole at the heel and toe. She is considering changing to 20 gram weights instead.
- Length: My fiancée is 5’3”, so we went with a 32” putter to maximize control. She was previously using a 35” putter, which she gripped where the handle met the metal. She is adjusting to her shorter putter, though in hindsight, she probably would have been more comfortable with a 33” putter.
Best Putt or Round with this Putter
On the 9th hole at Black Creek Club, the green slopes back to front, and she was unfortunately 30 feet above the pin with a tricky downhill left-to-right slider. With the Odyssey White Hot OG, she was able to hit the perfect putt—just a gentle stroke that would normally only go 10 feet. This put the ball on the right path so that it kept rolling with the break and the downhill, winding up six inches from the hole for an easy tap in.
Value for the money vs. other options
For $229.99, the Odyssey Women’s White Hot OG #1 Wide S Putter is a great deal. Other blade putters that also deliver impeccable feel include the Scotty Cameron putters and Bettinardi putters. However, those competitor brands cost $350+, so the White Hot OG is a cost-effective way to get a high-quality putter.
Final verdict
My fiancée has been playing golf for two years now, and in order to become a more consistent putter, she needs a club with a consistently soft touch so she can putt well on faster greens. The Odyssey Women’s White Hot OG #1 Wide S Putter delivers all of that, plus it was super affordable compared to other high-quality putters.
