About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the club, which I tested for one day in August of 2022.
My take
The Odyssey White Hot OG #7 putter is geared for those who struggle to consistently make those 5-10 footers. This putter has a sleek look that feels great and has two solid and single dotted alignment lines that increase confidence with each putt.

How it performs
What I was looking for
I was looking for a new mallet putter that offered more consistency on shorter putts within 10 feet.
Why I tested this club
I tried this putter because I saw that Xander Schauffele uses a similar putter and is one of the better, more consistent putters on the PGA tour. I found it to be a great putter that gave me more confidence, specifically on those shorter putts around the hole. I also considered the Taylormade Spider EX #3 as well but found this to be the putter I preferred.
What I love about it
- Face Feel: The face technology has a balancing feature that really allows me to feel the club striking the ball, giving me more confidence to make more putts.
- Forgiveness: Even when the putt isn’t stuck perfectly, it still rolls pure and allows shorter putts to hold their line and farther putts to lag close to the hole.
- Alignment: The club has great alignment with its silver head and two dark lines down the head of the putter with a single dotted line. I felt aligned with where I needed to be aiming.
- Aesthetic Appeal: Pulling this out of the bag is a nice feeling. The steel shaft, down to the silver mallet head, makes the putter stand out.
- Grip Feel: Grip feel was solid. It has a pistol grip which is comfortable regardless of hand placement.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Weight: The weight is 355g which is lighter than what I prefer at 365+g. The putter felt like it was more difficult to keep on line going back and through on putts.
- Balance: The lighter weight created inconsistency in keeping my putter head on line on impact.
Best Putt or Round with this putter
During my testing session, I focused on short putts within 10 feet. I consistently made 8 out of 10 putts. I loved the confidence and consistency I had on these shorter putts due in large part to the forgiveness within the putter face.
Value for the money vs. other options
I think this putter is worth the value. I also tried the Odyssey DFX 2 Ball and Blade style putters, and all performed well, but for the extra money, I would say the Odyssey White Hot #7 is the better value.
Final verdict
I did not end up purchasing this putter, but I believe this putter unlocks confidence within 10 feet of the hole. With this putter in hand, I was a better, more consistent putter, and I could see my putting numbers improve with more practice.
