About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the putter, which I tested for one day in August of 2022.

My take

The Bettinardi BB Series BB1 putter is ideal for making and lagging more putts from 25+ feet. I believe this putter is best suited for a low to mid-handicap player who plays frequently and wants to improve their putting numbers.

What I was looking for

I was on the hunt for a putter that offered more stability and consistency on my take back and through on both short and long putts.

Why I tested this club

I did not buy this club because I preferred the Bettinardi Inovai 8.0 putter. I enjoyed the balance it offered and the feel, but it was lighter weight than I would have preferred.

What I love about it

  • Face Feel: The face was soft and allowed me to feel the connection with the ball, especially on longer putts, so I could better gauge my distance control.
  • Forgiveness: The forgiveness was okay. Nothing flashy, but I could still roll putts in even when I didn’t strike the ball in the center of the face.
  • Length: The putter was 35 inches, which I prefer being 5’10’’.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: The silver shaft with the matte black putter head was really sharp and drew my eyes toward the putter.
  • Grip Feel: The grip was a standard pistol grip, which was tacky and easy to control.
  • Customization: I would like to test the putter in a 34-inch as I fluctuate between 35 and 34 inches as my preferred length for putters.

Issues I’ve encountered

  • Weight: The weight was decent at 348g, but I prefer heavier putters in the 360+ range.
  • Alignment: I prefer the solid one line on the top of the putter across the top, and this putter stops.

Best Putt or Round with this putter

I was practicing with this putter on the practice green and made a 35-foot putt, followed up with two lag putts within a foot. The distance control was the best feature of this putter.

Value for the money vs. other options

I compared this putter with the Bettinardi Inovai 8.0 putter, which is the same price as the BB1. Overall, I preferred the mallet style of the Inovai 8.0 putter because it had a heavier weight. Comparatively, though, if someone prefers a blade-style putter, this is a great option to consider.

Final verdict

This putter unlocks confidence from a long range. In addition, this putter has a great feel for dialing in those putts from 25+ feet and ensuring more consistent two putts.
