Expert Review: TaylorMade Women's Stealth Iron Set

Great shape after use, beautiful looking club. All photos courtesy of Michael V.
About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the irons, which my mom purchased with her own money in June of 2022.
My take
After going through the online fitting process with my mother, I decided to buy her the TaylorMade Stealth Irons. These irons are great for ladies who hit their irons well and want an all-around performing cub.
Not going to get the traditional hollow cavity back look

How it performs
What I was looking for
I was looking for a club that would make the most out of well struck shots. My mom is lethal from within 120 yards and I wanted her to get as much accuracy and distance out of her irons without sacrificing forgiveness.
Not too wide, wide enough to get out of tough lies
Why I chose this club
I chose the Stealth Irons for their design and overall performance. I did consider a XXIO Ladies Complete Set, but decided to piece together a set to better compliment my mother’s game.
Looking down at great looking irons
What I love about it
- Distance: They provide great distance, and produced some of the longest shots I’ve seen from women’s irons. The stronger lofts along with TaylorMade’s patented speed pocket is a combination that makes distance a stand out feature.
- Forgiveness: Extra toe forgiveness makes these very forgiving. TaylorMade’s Toe Wrap Construction offers a big upgrade in forgiveness from last year’s SIM2 Max Irons. She was able to get consistent distances on misshits.
- Feel: There’s great feel on all shots, especially with a shaft upgrade. The Mamiya shafts offer more stability to allow for this better accuracy and feel.
- Workability: It was easy to shape ball flight as needed.
- Aesthetic Appeal: These are great-looking clubs, extremely durable, and not oversized.
- Spin: They provide exceptional spin control around the green.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Sound: There is a muted sweet spot that is not going to give much feedback sound-wise. The sound is not as traditional as some other ladies’ clubs. This is likely due to TaylorMade’s Echo Dampening technology that is placed behind the club face to eliminate any unwanted vibrations.
- Launch Angle: There were lower-flighted shots with the stronger-degreed irons. This ball flight can be a bit lower than some women prefer.
Toe Wrap Construction
Best shot with this club
The best shot I see my mom repeatedly hit with the Women's Stealth irons comes every par 3. With every swing her confidence grows, and it’s starting to feel like she can go for the pin more and be more accurate in comparison to the heavier soles that she was previously using.
Value for the money vs. other options
TaylorMade’s Stealth Irons are made with premium materials, and are great all-around clubs. They are not going to be the most or the least expensive, but they may be the best performing option for other women golfers. The Stealth Irons offer a similar feel to forged irons, so options like Callaway’s Apex DCB irons are going to cost more.
Final verdict
TaylorMade Women’s Stealth Irons offer a great amount of forgiveness and flight control which is going to benefit better ball strikers. TaylorMade uses a very forgiving club design with a thinner top line and soul to offer better work ability. On top of that, stronger-degreed lofts with a higher launching shaft optimize distance and spin control.
