Brand Claims

What does Burton claim about this board?

Burton claims that the Story Board is the ultimate women's freeride shape. Overall Impressions

What is your overall impression of this board?

My overall impression of the Story Board was that it did fit my riding style almost to a T. I really enjoy going fast, carving hard, going through some trees, and this is definitely that aggressive, stiffer ride for a more aggressive female rider.

How does it turn?

This board is going to give you some deep carves. This board is going to lend itself to some speed and is going to keep you happy if you’re an aggressive rider like myself.

This board is definitely stiff. It's aggressive and it’s a hard charger for my lady rippers out there that want to get into some deep carves or like to get into some trees. It is very easy to go edge to edge on this board, but you need to know how to ride a snowboard to be on this board.

How about edge hold?

This board is a traditional camber profile, so it is going to hold an edge really well. Control on the terrain we are on today was fabulous. No chatter, great through the trees. Great maneuverability, but overall, it is an aggressive board. It's not necessarily going to help you turn, you need to know how to turn. There's no rocker in this bad boy so you need to be able to get on your edges on your own.

Could you speak about playfulness and pop?

It's pretty stiff, but it's got some nice pop, for sure. For me, it's just not as playful and that would be my least favorite part about it. I just don't personally like that stiff of a board, but if you weigh a little bit more than me, you probably would like it more than me because you might be able to flex it more.

Who would you recommend this board to?

This is going to be for those advanced freeriders who wants to get into those steeps and deeps.

Who should avoid this board, there are better options for them out there?

This board is not meant for a beginner, and I would argue and say this board isn't even meant for a lower level intermediate.

Snowboards work differently for different types of riders. If you want help finding the right board for you, reach out to Arielle or any other Snowboard Expert here on Curated for free, personalized recommendations.

I packed up my car with my one snowboard setup, (now a collection), and began working at Keystone Resort, CO, as a snowboar...
