About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the golf club, which I tested for two days in November of 2022.

My take

The TaylorMade Truss TM1 putter is ideal for making more short putts within 10 feet and lagging those 25+ foot putts within three feet. The golfer who would benefit most from this putter is a low to mid-handicapper who wants to take their game more seriously and lower their scores.

What I was looking for

I was looking for a putter that offered more consistency on putts within 10 feet.

Why I chose not to purchase this club

I did not end up buying the TaylorMade Truss TM1 putter as it was out of my budget. However, the performance is undeniable as the feel within 10 feet is second to none. Additionally, the balance and weight allowed me to sink those putts under 10 feet confidently.

What I love about it

  • Face Feel: The face technology has a balancing feature that really allows me to feel the club striking the ball, which gives me more confidence to make more putts.
  • Balance: The TaylorMade Truss TM1 putter feels balanced and weighted when making a stroke back and through on each putt, both longer and shorter. It allows the contact to be consistent.
  • Forgiveness: Even when the putt isn’t struck perfectly, it still rolls pure and allows shorter putts to hold their line and farther putts to lag their way close to the hole.
  • Weight: The weight is 365g, which is what I have always played with, and that is a weight I am used to playing with.
  • Alignment: The club boasts sharp alignment with its single line down the middle of the clubhead when viewed from above.
  • Grip Feel: The grip feel is solid. It has a pistol grip which is comfortable regardless of hand placement.

Issues I’ve encountered

  • Aesthetic Appeal: The look of the TaylorMade Truss TM1 is kind of a deal breaker. The thick hosel design doesn’t look great and is hard for me to get over as it looks bulky and out of place.
  • Customization: I would have liked to see how a 34-inch putter would have performed as I fluctuate between that and 35 inches as being my preferred length of putter. I couldn’t test a 34-inch putter as they did not have one in stock.

Best Putt or Round with this Putter

I made 10 10-footers in a row while practicing with the TaylorMade Truss TM1 putter on the practice green. I loved the consistency and confidence that grew with each putt.

Value for the money vs. other options

The value of the TaylorMade Truss TM1 putter is worth it if someone is willing to spend the money. I tried out the TaylorMade Spider EX and the Callaway Triple Track putters and thought this putter was just as consistent within 10 feet. It is more expensive, but for the more serious golfer, it is a club that can truly lower scores.

Final verdict

The TaylorMade Truss TM1 putter ultimately unlocks a world of confidence and swagger that any putt under 10 feet will be made, but for me, personally, the aesthetic appeal with the hosel is a deal breaker.
