How they perform
What I was looking for
I was looking for a boot for terrain park riding, which needs to be flexible as well as responsive. These boots were a great match as they made it easy to hit rails and were responsive and durable enough to hit bigger jumps.
Why I chose this gear
I decided to buy the Fuse boot because of how it looked and how comfortable I heard it was. I also bought the Vans Hi-Standard but preferred the Fuse because of how snug and comfortable they were on my feet.

What I love about them
- Size: They run true to size.
- Comfort: Very comfortable, especially the part that holds my ankle and calf. The interior is very luxurious.
- Warmth: These boots are very warm and waterproof as well, which makes for a comfortable day on the hill.
- Heel hold: Heel hold is proper, with no heel lift if tightened to the right amount.
- Shock absorption: Shock absorption is amazing with these. The soles give good cushion, and impact is easy when hitting big jumps.
- Responsiveness: They are very responsive. The BOA and lacing style allows me to tighten to a good amount where they are very responsive.
- Grip: The grip on these boots is just as good as many others I’ve ridden but is still amazing. The grip pattern and material help when walking on icy or hard-pack snow.
- Ease of use: Very easy to use. The single BOA and lace style makes them easy to tighten to preference. The liners are easy to tighten as well.
- Durability: The Fuse has great durability. I ride mine in every condition possible, and there are no signs of wear and tear. If taken care of, these boots will last a long time.
- Versatility This boot is very versatile and can be ridden in any terrain. They are flexible and responsive at the same time, which gives me the ability to use them in every condition.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Weight: This boot's weight is not bad at all, but there are lighter boot options out there. However, these are still lighter boots and make for good riding and walking mobility.
Favorite moment with this gear
The time that stuck with me the most with these boots was the first day I rode them. I had always had Vans before getting the Fuses, and I remember they were extremely comfortable after putting them on for the first time. Also, the break-in period for them was quick, which helped me do all my tricks quickly after breaking them out of the box.
Value for the money vs. other options
One boot that is similar to the Fuse is the Vans Invado Pro. It has the same lacing style and is about the same price. They both perform about the same, but the Fuse is definitely comfier. Both have a very diverse range of motion, where they can be flexible when riding park and sturdy when riding steep terrain or hitting big jumps.
Final verdict
The Ride Fuse will easily help one perform well on the mountain while remaining warm and comfortable. They are everything one could ask for when it comes to performance. They are easy to get in and out of and can snug up well around one’s ankle and calf. They are amazing boots that are worth the price.
