About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the putter, which I tested for one day in December of 2022.

What I was looking for

I was looking for a mallet putter, but with the thickness of this blade-style putter, I decided to give it a try. It performs similarly to a mallet putter with its larger backing, and I am most pleased with its balance. It is weighted throughout the head, which keeps the MOI (Moment of Inertia) even on the backswing and follow through.

Why I chose to test this club

I tested this club because I was comparing all the other Wilson Infinite putters. I didn’t purchase it because I didn’t like the alignment and visual appearance while looking down at the ball. The double bend neck and the triple lines on the back made it hard for me to feel as if I am aligned correctly.

What I love about it

  • Face Feel: The West Loop has a soft-feeling putter face which creates consistency on longer lag putts due to its ability to help “feel” the putt to the hole. This helps me to one or two putts almost every time, regardless of where I find myself on the green.
  • Weight: The putter is 365g, which is my ideal weight. It feels heavier and is subsequently easier to stay down on longer putts. This helps me dial in the radius around the hole on my first putt to ensure that I increase my chances of two putting every time.
  • Length: I enjoy the 35-inch length. It provides me the best opportunity to swing my arms back and through on short and long putts. This is a preference thing, but when my arms hang freely straight down, it allows me to be the best putter I can be.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: The silver shaft down to the black head is sleek and sharp to the eye. Its black, white, and red design pop—especially down to the grip. When the putter cover comes off, it looks like a much higher-priced putter.
  • Grip Feel: The oversized tacky grip ensures a comfortable feeling in the hands on each putt. However, I enjoy an oversized pistol grip and would customize it. I have smaller hands and enjoy how the grip feels, regardless of the conditions.
  • Customization: I would like to see how a 34in putter performs because a heavier-weighted putter stays down on the ball more. But sometimes, I prefer a shorter length shaft so I can lean over the ball more and be more consistent within my arc swing.

Issues I’ve encountered

  • Forgiveness: On shorter putts, I have noticed that the precision has to be perfect. An error off the toe or heel doesn’t allow the putt to stay on line.
  • Alignment: The triple lines and the double-bend neck make it hard to feel comfortable over the ball. The angle of the neck makes me second guess myself. And that is the last thing I want standing over a 5-foot putt for par.

Best Putt or Round with this Putter

I consistently found myself putting all of my 20+ foot putts within a three-foot radius around the hole because of its MOI and balance, which in turn helped me eliminate the chance of three-putting.

Value for the money vs. other options

I tested the entire Wilson Infinite line of putters and believe the “The L” and the “Windy City” line of putters are more complete than the West Loop. I believe that is because they are more consistent from 10 feet and closer due to their feel.

Final verdict

If one is looking for feel and enjoys a thicker blade-style putter that will help them with their lag putts, then this will be a good addition to the bag.
