About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the putter, which I tested for one day in January of 2023.

My take

I love the Odyssey Ten 2-Ball Putter. It has incredible consistency on long putts with distance control as well as a great feel on shorter putts. One of its best features is its softer face which allows instant feedback up through the hands to gauge speed and distance on each putt.

What I was looking for

I prefer mallet putters over any other type of putter, so I wanted to give the Odyssey Ten 2-Ball a try. I like that it’s aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Secondly, I am a feel putter and wanted something with a soft face that would allow me to feel the putt through contact more consistently.

Why I chose to test this club

I tested this club and loved everything it had to offer. The weight, the face feel, the grip, and just the overall performance. I was consistently making my 5-10 footers and lagging my 25+ footers into a very makeable second putt. At this time, I am not going to purchase it as the timing is not right, but for someone considering upgrading their putter, this is a great option.

What I love about it

  • Face Feel: The face technology has a balancing feature that really allowed me to feel the club striking the ball, which is what I want in a putter. The soft insert within the face gives it a deadening feel that creates a softer contact surface for any type of putt on the green.
  • Forgiveness: It’s very forgiving due to its microhinge technology. The insert creates a quicker roll that has an even consistency throughout each putt. Additionally, it has a wide putter face that creates more surface area for putts to be struck and stay on line.
  • Weight: The weight is ideal at 365g, giving it good control on both short and long putts. I believe putters at 365g keep the putter down and through longer and allow for a smoother stroke from start to end. It also helps with distance control as putts don’t have to be struck as hard on those longer 25+ foot putts.
  • Alignment: It has sharp alignment features with the double ball feature, creating a larger visual than a straight line back like other Odyssey putters in the series.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: Amazing. Pulling this out of the bag is a nice feeling. The steel shaft to the mallet head makes the putter stand out.
  • Grip Feel: The grip feel was solid. It has a pistol oversized grip which is comfortable regardless of hand placement.
  • Balance: The MOI (Moment of Inertia) is designed to create an even stroke on the backswing and follow through. This creates consistent putts to be had on both shorter pressure putts and longer lag putts.

Issues I’ve encountered

  • Customization: I would have liked to see how a 35-inch putter would have performed and how that would have changed the overall weight of the putter.

Best Putt or Round with this Putter

During my testing session, I averaged around a 90% make rate within seven feet which is about 5-10% higher than the DFX 7 and DFX 2-Ball putters I compared it with. Adding 5-10% on those crucial putts is key in lowering those scores.

Value for the money vs. other options

I think the Odyssey Ten 2-Ball Putter is worth the money. I tried both the DFX Seven and the DFX 2 Ball putters by Odyssey, and they weren’t as forgiving, and the face didn’t have the same feel. Spending the extra money for a serious golfer is well worth it. Ultimately, for its price, I think the Odyssey Ten 2-Ball Putter performs just as well, if not better, than the Cobra 3D line or the Scotty Cameron Special Select putters, but it is over $100 cheaper.

Final verdict

I believe the Odyssey Ten 2-Ball Putter will create more confidence in people’s game on the greens to lag those long putts close and make more putts within that knee-knocker range of 5-10 feet.
