What I was looking for

I have been using my Union Binding Flite Pros for nearly seven years and wanted to upgrade to a newer, more responsive model with similar high quality.

Why I chose to test this gear

Union has been known to make durable, high-quality snowboard bindings for years. I’ve always ridden Union and have loved the product and customer support. So I hadn’t considered other options for bindings.

What I love about them

  • Binding adjustability in boots: The Union Force Bindings have a simple yet effective design that allows for easy adjustments to the fit of the bindings to my boots, giving me a snug and secure hold.
  • Stance adjustability: These bindings offer a good range of stance adjustability, allowing me to customize my setup to my personal preferences and riding style.
  • Comfort: The Union Force Bindings are well-padded and designed with comfort in mind, making them a good choice for long days on the mountain.
  • Shock absorption: The bindings have a good level of shock absorption, helping to reduce impact from rough terrain and vibrations.
  • Responsiveness: The medium flex of the Union Force Bindings provides a good balance of responsiveness and comfort, allowing me to carve with precision and respond quickly to changing terrain.
  • Carving: The Union Force Bindings offer good support and response, making it easier to carve and make precise turns on the mountain.
  • Ease of turn initiation: The bindings have a quick and responsive feel, making it easier to initiate turns and navigate through tricky terrain.
  • Buttering: The bindings are well-suited to freestyle riding and offer a good level of flex and responsiveness for buttering and freestyle tricks.
  • Straps: The straps on the Union Force Bindings are well-designed, offering a good balance of comfort and hold.
  • Buckles: The buckles on the Union Force Bindings are easy to use and provide a secure hold, ensuring my boots stay in place throughout my ride.
  • Durability: The Union Force Bindings are built to last and have a solid construction, making them a good choice for riders who want bindings that can handle tough conditions.

Issues I’ve encountered

  • Weight: The Union Force Bindings are on the heavier side, but this is due to their solid construction and heavy-duty design. The extra weight doesn't significantly affect the overall riding experience.

Favorite moment with this gear

One of my favorite moments with the Union Force Bindings was when I was riding in the backcountry on a particularly gnarly terrain. The bindings held up incredibly well, providing the right support and response and allowing me to navigate the tricky conditions confidently. The bindings were also adjustable on-the-fly, which allowed me to quickly make changes to my setup as the conditions changed. This experience was a testament to the versatility and performance of the Union Force Bindings, and it really helped me unlock an elevated snowboarding experience. With these bindings, the possibilities for adventure and exploration on the mountain are endless.

Value for the money vs. other options

Union Force Bindings are designed for all-mountain riding and offer a good balance of response, support, and adjustability. Union Force Bindings are known for their durability and solid construction, making them a good investment for riders who want bindings that will last. If someone is looking for a reliable set of bindings that will perform well in a variety of conditions, they could be worth the investment.

The Union Force Bindings and Union Flite Pro Bindings are both made by the Union Binding Company and are designed for all-mountain riding. Both bindings offer similar levels of performance and adjustability, but there are some key differences to consider when comparing these two bindings. Both bindings are known for their solid construction and durability, but the Union Force Bindings are generally considered a more heavy-duty option. The Union Force Bindings have a medium flex, making them a good choice for riders who want a balanced feel between response and comfort. In contrast, the Union Flite Pro Bindings have a softer flex, making them a good choice for riders who want a more playful, park-focused feel.

Final verdict

The Union Force Bindings are a solid choice for intermediate and advanced riders looking for a high-performance binding that offers good support, responsiveness, and versatility. Overall, the Union Force Binding is a high-quality, reliable choice for riders who want a dependable binding for their snowboarding adventures.
