About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the golf club, which I purchased with my own money in July of 2021.
My take
The Cobra King Radspeed One Length Hybrid is a perfect club for golfers looking to increase their accuracy without sacrificing distance by having a shorter hybrid. This hybrid is great because the shorter length helps golfers find the center of the face more often.

How it performs
What I was looking for
I was looking for a really accurate club to use off the tee and fill the 230-240 yard gap in my golf game. I wanted to see what utility irons and hybrids were available to help fill this need.
Why I chose this club
I was ultimately between the One Length Hybrid and TaylorMade P790 UDI 2 iron. However, I chose this club because it launched higher, so it was able to hold greens better. Additionally, I was more accurate and consistent with distance and dispersion with this club compared to the P790.
What I love about it
- Distance: The Cobra Radspeed One Length is not the longest distance out of hybrids; however, it does not lose distance. This club is still just as long in distance with a shorter shaft than its competitors. This shorter shaft helps me hit the center of the face more often.
- Forgiveness: This club has great forgiveness in the clubhead but even more so with the length. There is definitely a lot of clubhead forgiveness to help the ball stay straight on off-center strikes. However, the shorter club length is a huge help for accuracy and forgiveness because it makes it easier for me to find the center of the clubface.
- Feel: The Radspeed feels great and extremely explosive off the clubface. Every time I hit this club, no matter how well I strike it, it feels so explosive off the face, almost like it is a springboard adding distance to my strike.
- Sound: The sound is very similar to the feel. The club sounds extremely fast and firm. I love how complete this golf club sounds. A very solid sound makes the club sound like it is made very well, and sometimes it even sounds like I am a professional golfer hitting the ball.
- Workability: The shorter shaft makes me feel really confident in shaping the shots I want to hit. I can hit fades and draws very easily, just like I would with a driver or irons. I find it difficult to hit low shots due to the shorter shaft and higher launch angles.
- Aesthetic Appeal: This club is nothing special from the top view. It has a plain black crown with the Cobra C logo to help with alignment, which I love. All I want in a golf club is a simple design. The head is a great shape for a hybrid that gives me the confidence to be able to hit it from the rough, off the tee, or in the fairway.
- Launch Angle: The shorter shaft increases my standard hybrid launch angle, which is great because it helps get the ball in the air easier. Additionally, it gives a better descent angle into greens so that the ball will hold and not run through.
- Spin: Surprisingly, the golf club does not spin much more than a standard-length hybrid and actually has a similar amount of spin while having a shorter shaft.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Adjustability: This club has no option for adjustability, especially considering the shaft length.
- Shaft Feel: The shaft I had was 80 grams which became too light for me. As a result, the shaft felt way too soft for my swing speeds, and I felt like I was losing distance from creating too much spin.
- Shaft Performance: The shaft was great early on, and I loved the length, but as I started to swing faster, I grew out of a stiff shaft and now need heavier X-Stiff shafts.
- Grip Feel: The grip is a Golf Pride Tour Velvet, which feels great when one first uses it; however, after a few months, the grip quickly starts to wear away. Therefore, I do not normally use the Tour Velvet grip because it does not last as long as other grips do.
Best shot with this club
The best shot I hit with this club was in a tournament on a par 3. The par 3 was 235 yards to the pin with a very small green surrounded by bunkers and thick rough. This made it critical to hit and hold the green. I chose to hit this hybrid and was able to hit it high enough to land soft and hold the firm green leaving me with a 15-foot putt. I only made par, but I was one of only seven players in the event to hit the green that day and gained a .7 of a stroke on the field by making par.
Value for the money vs. other options
Some competitors to the Cobra King Radspeed One Length Hybrid are the TaylorMade Sim2, Ping G425, and Callaway Apex. The Sim2 was the longest distance out of these top options from my testing. However, the G425, Apex, and Radspeed all were very similar in distance, even given the shorter shaft in the Radspeed. I was the most accurate with the Radspeed because I hit the center of the face most often because of the shorter shaft length. The Callway Apex is roughly $255, while the Sim 2 and G425 are both around $220. Finally, the best value for the money is the Radspeed One Length Hybrid, which is roughly $130, providing very similar performance to the others for a much cheaper price.
Final verdict
The Cobra Radspeed One Length is a great hybrid with a shorter shaft that allows players to hit the center of the face more often. This hybrid is awesome because the shorter shaft helps increase accuracy without losing distance, and some players may even see an increase in clubhead speed.
