How it performs
What I was looking for
When I was club hunting, I was looking for a golf club that has workability and distance. The T100s satisfy both of those criteria.
Why I chose this club
I chose this club because of its overall feel. It gave me a lot of confidence over the ball and made me feel like I could hit every shot well. There are many other iron options available on the market, and the right choice depends on one’s personal preferences, budget, and skill level. Some other popular iron options include: TaylorMade SIM2 Max Irons, which feature a sleek design and a high-strength C300 steel face for impressive distance and forgiveness; Callaway Apex 21 Irons, which feature a forged body and a high-speed face cup for consistent performance and ball speed; Mizuno JPX921 Hot Metal Irons, which use a unique metal structure to deliver impressive ball speed and distance, while also offering a comfortable feel; Ping G425 Irons, which use a unique metalwood-style face that provides high ball speed and forgiveness, making them a great option for golfers of all skill levels; and Cobra Radspeed Irons, which feature a high-strength face insert and a unique weighting system that delivers impressive speed and forgiveness, while also offering a comfortable feel.
What I love about it
- Distance: I’ve noticed about a 10–15 yard distance increase by switching over to the T100s. My previous iron set was the TaylorMade P770.
- Forgiveness: My misses are smaller and when a situation like not hitting it in the middle of the face happens, the ball will still travel a desirable distance.
- Feel: The feel of these irons is unmatched. When I hit a shot thin, I don’t feel the vibration as much as in other clubs.
- Sound: Titleist has a way of making their irons sound solid. The sound that comes out from these irons is amazing, especially when I hit it in the center of the face.
- Workability: I am able to hit a draw and a fade whenever I want to.
- Adjustability: Since these irons are forged, it is easy to adjust their loft and lie. I suggest checking the lie every 2–3 months just to be safe.
- Shaft Feel: The current shaft I have on it is the TT AMT X100 shaft and I love the combination of both the head and the shaft. It does not feel too whippy. This shaft is customized and not stock.
- Shaft Performance: The shaft produces a higher ball flight in my opinion and it gives me control on the greens
- Aesthetic Appeal: I get compliments all the time about these clubs. I like how it looks like a blade when I set it down during setup but is more forgiving.
- Grip Feel: The grips I have on are the CP2 Pro, which I customized. I love how they feel, and they really help with absorbing shock.
- Launch Angle: Mid/high launch. I noticed that my ball is able to hold the greens, especially when it is firm because of the higher launch angle.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Spin: The spin rate of this club is mostly on the higher end. For me, though, I love the higher spin because it helps keep the ball straight. My spin rate for the 7 iron is 7,100 rpm on average (tested with Trackman).
Best shot with this club
The Titleist T100s irons are a game-changer for serious golfers. With great feel, distance, and workability, these irons have been my go-to club of choice for both casual rounds and competitive tournaments. I've won several tournaments and played in high-level competitions thanks in large part to the trust I have in these clubs. From the University of Virginia to the second stage of Kornferry Q School, these irons have been a constant source of reliability and consistency. If one’s looking for a top-performing iron that can help take their game to the next level, I highly recommend giving the Titleist T100s a try. One of my best shots with this iron set is when I made a double eagle on a Par 5. It was 230 yards and I hit a really good 4 iron from the fairway.
Value for the money vs. other options
The Titleist T100s irons are a top-performing iron that offers excellent value for money. These irons provide great feel, distance, and workability, making them a great investment for golfers who want a high-quality club at an affordable price point. With the trust and confidence I have in these clubs, I've been able to compete at a high level and win several tournaments, making them well worth the investment. If one’s looking for a great set of irons that offer both quality and value, the Titleist T100s are a great choice. Overall, I picked the T100s compared to the other options I mention above because I notice that the T100s dual-cavity area that houses tungsten weights in the heel and toe makes it more forgiving while maintaining playability.
Final verdict
If I were to give my personal verdict on the Titleist T100s irons, I would say that they are one of the best iron sets I've ever played with. The feel is fantastic, with a comfortable grip and a well-balanced swing. The workability is also exceptional, allowing me to shape my shots in any direction I want.
In addition, the distance is great, with consistent ball speed and distance on every shot. I've played in several tournaments and high-level competitions with these clubs, and they have helped me perform at my best. The value for money is also impressive, as they provide top-quality performance without breaking the bank.
