About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the driver, which I purchased with my own money in May of 2021.

My take

The Titleist TSI 3 Driver is designed to benefit a wide range of golfers, from mid-handicap players to professionals. Its adjustability features allow golfers to fine-tune their ball flight and spin, making it a suitable option for players of all skill levels. Additionally, the forgiveness built into the clubhead can benefit high-handicap players who struggle with off-center hits. However, the club's compact design may be more appealing to more experienced golfers who prioritize control and precision over forgiveness. Ultimately, the TSI 3 Titleist driver can benefit golfers who are looking for a high-performance and adjustable driver that can improve their distance, accuracy, and consistency off the tee.

What I was looking for

I was on a club hunt because my recent driver, the TaylorMade M5, was getting outdated. I was looking for a club that has a sleek design and provides feel and distance.

Why I chose this club

What really stands out about the TSI 3 driver is its adjustability. It has a SureFit CG track that allows me to adjust the club's CG (center of gravity), which can greatly impact the ball flight and spin. I've been able to dial in my ball flight and get the perfect amount of spin for my swing, which has resulted in more distance and accuracy off the tee. I considered going with the Taylormade SIM 2 but ended up picking Titleist because it is known for producing high-quality golf equipment that is designed with the needs of serious golfers in mind. The TSI3 driver is no exception, with a compact and aerodynamic design that appeals to golfers who prioritize control and precision.

What I love about it

  • Distance: I’ve noticed about a 20–30 yard increase by switching over from the Taylormade M5. I feel that the aerodynamic design allows the clubhead to move through the air more easily.
  • Forgiveness: My misses are smaller and when a situation like not hitting it in the middle of the face happens, the ball will still travel a desirable distance.
  • Feel: The Titleist TSI3 driver has a solid and responsive feel at impact
  • Sound: The Titleist TSI3 driver has a unique and powerful sound at impact, providing an audible indication of a well-struck shot and adding to the overall experience of hitting with the driver.
  • Workability: The Titleist TSI3 driver is designed with workability in mind, offering golfers the ability to adjust the driver's center of gravity and fine-tune their ball flight to achieve greater control and shot-shaping capabilities.
  • Adjustability: The Titleist TSI3 driver is highly adjustable. It has a SureFit CG track that allows golfers to move the club's CG to achieve the desired ball flight and spin characteristics, making it a versatile driver that can be customized to fit any golfer's swing.
  • Shaft Feel: The current shaft I use is the Ventus Black 6x; I love how it holds up with a faster swing speed. This shaft was customized and not stock.
  • Shaft Performance: The shaft produces a lower ball flight and a lower spin rate which helps higher-speed golfers.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: The Titleist TSI3 driver has a sleek and modern design that is visually appealing, with clean lines and a matte black finish that exudes confidence and sophistication on the course.
  • Grip Feel: I currently have the Golf Pride MultiCompound, which I also customized. I love how this grip performs when it is raining. I am able to hang on to the club more than other grips.
  • Launch Angle: This club has a low/mid launch. The golf ball has a shallower angle of attack because of it, and it is perfect for firmer golf courses.
  • Spin: The spin rate of this driver is around 2100–2300 rpm, which is optimal and where I want a driver to be.

Issues I’ve encountered

  • Other: Some golfers may find the driver's adjustability features to be too complicated or overwhelming, while others may prefer a driver with a larger clubhead or more forgiveness. Additionally, the TSI3 driver is a premium club with a higher price point, which may be a barrier for some golfers.

Best shot with this club

I remember the first time I hit the Titleist TSI3 driver. I had been struggling with my driving for a while, so I was hoping that the TSI3 would help me find some consistency off the tee. I took my first swing, and I immediately noticed the difference. The ball came off the clubface with more speed and precision than I had experienced before. I watched as the ball flew straight down the fairway and landed in the perfect spot.

It was a great feeling to hit such a clean shot. I knew that the TSI3 driver was helping me improve my game and gain more confidence in my abilities. Since then, I've had many more successful shots with the TSI3, and it has become my go-to driver when I need to hit a long and straight shot off the tee. Overall, I would highly recommend the Titleist TSI3 driver to any golfer who wants to improve their driving and gain more consistency off the tee. It's a high-performance driver that delivers results and can make a real difference in one’s game.

Value for the money vs. other options

The Titleist TSI3 driver is a premium driver that is priced higher than some other options on the market. However, its adjustability features, workability, and overall performance make it a worthwhile investment for golfers who prioritize customization and precision. Compared to other premium drivers, such as the Callaway Epic Max and TaylorMade SIM2 Max, the TSI3 offers similar adjustability and performance features but may appeal more to golfers who prefer a more compact and traditional clubhead design. Ultimately, the value of the TSI3 driver depends on each golfer's individual needs and preferences, but for those who are looking for a high-performance and adjustable driver that can improve their game, the TSI3 is definitely worth considering

Final verdict

The Titleist TSI3 driver is a highly adjustable and versatile driver that offers impressive performance and workability. Its advanced features and sleek design make it a great choice for golfers who want a driver that can be customized to fit their swing and deliver consistent results.
