How it performs
What I was looking for
I was looking for a stroller that was easy to open and close while wrangling both a baby and toddler into the car. I also needed something with a decent suspension for dirt road walks.
Why I chose this stroller
I chose the Britax B-Lively Double Stroller because of its maneuverability and ease of folding. I also loved that it rode smoothly on gravel roads. I purchased another Chicco double stroller but hated it. However, my mom has an older version of the Britax B-Lively and loves it.
What I love about it
- Design & Features: I love this stroller's clean and simple design. There is a great parent organizer that hangs off the back and functions as extra diaper/snack storage. Unfortunately, there are no cup holders on the stroller, but I added a universal one myself.
- Maneuverability: The Britax B-Lively Double Stroller is easy to turn and maneuver. Plus, it fits through most standard doorways.
- Suspension: The suspension is surprisingly great for a non-jogging stroller. The ride on dirt and gravel roads is really smooth, and the tires have held up well.
- Ease of Use / Portability: It is very simple to fold and unfold. It takes two hands to fold it up, but only one to unfold and click it into place. It folds up easily into the back of my 2019 Ford Escape but isn’t exactly travel-size friendly.
- Weight/Size: This stroller is really lightweight. It’s narrow enough to fit through most standard doorways. There is ample storage in the baskets underneath and a parent organizer bag hanging off the back.
- Comfort: The full recline was an awesome feature when my son was little. He would happily nap for a couple of hours there. Also, the adjustable handle is great for my husband, who’s taller than I am.
- Quality & Durability: The Britax B-Lively Double Stroller is really durable and easy to clean. The soft canvas fabric wipes clean or can be sprayed down and left in the sun to dry quickly. It has held up really well from a lot of wear and tear over the last two years. There haven’t been any rips or tears after I’ve basically power-washed it a few times after big messes. I leave it in the sun to dry and the fabric hasn’t faded either.
- Aesthetics: I really like the clean and simple design of the Britax B-Lively Double Stroller. It isn’t bulky and heavy like most other double strollers.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Other: This stroller is relatively bulky, so I wouldn’t recommend it if someone’s looking for a lightweight travel option or something that will need to fit in the trunk of a smaller car.
Value for the money vs. other options
The Britax B-Lively Double Stroller has really stood the test of time from daily wear and tear, so to me, it is definitely worth the money. Some other strollers are bulky and wear down quickly. A similar option is the Baby Jogger City Mini stroller, which is relatively smaller and has less storage space. Plus, it’s more expensive, so the value of the B-Lively is greater.
Final verdict
The Britax B-Lively Double Stroller is a great option to grow with one’s children that are close in age. It was a lifesaver while I was navigating two under two.
