About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the golf balls, which I purchased with my own money in August of 2022.
My take
The Srixon Z-Star XV Divide is an excellent choice for a low-spin golf ball for the higher swing speed player looking for more precision, a lower ball flight, and less ballooning on high-spin shots.

How it performs
What I was looking for
I wanted a low-spin option for a lower ball flight, as my drives sometimes tend to balloon. Additionally, I wanted to bring that down and gain some distance from it.
Why I chose this golf ball
I decided to try this ball based on the look and Srixon’s reputation for quality. I also purchased Pro V-1x and Callaway Chrome Soft X LS to compare alongside this ball. I didn’t end up choosing this ball as my personal favorite of the three. Look out for my review of each of those soon.
What I love about it
- Distance: I’ve seen excellent distance from this ball—as long as any ball I’ve tested, given its low-spin, penetrating flight.
- Feel: The feel is good but very firm on full shots. Playable around the green but will not bite quite as much as other softer options.
- Durability: Durability is good, but I did notice some small marks/stains on the cover from normal use after nine holes. The ball would stand up to playing a couple of rounds but may show signs of wear and degrade performance a bit by that point.
- Color: The two-tone coloring is very nice. I appreciate being able to visually judge the spin in the air, and it has a built-in alignment line to help one line up putts.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Green spin: This is a low-spin all-around golf ball. It lacks a bit of bite around the greens but contact with the clubface still feels premium. The cover is flexible enough to adhere to the face well.
Best shot with this golf ball
I’ve hit my longest drive ever with this golf ball. On the first tee of my home course in Akron, Ohio, Brookledge Golf Club, I cleared 300 yards total toward the end of last season, which I’d never done before (granted, I was with a downwind).
Value for the money vs. other options
I like a lot of what Srixon Z-Star XV Divide ball offers. Ultimately, it comes down to how much feel and spin I’m willing to give up to gain distance. I feel similarly to options like Titleist Pro V-1x and Callaway Chrome Soft X LS, though I love the visual that the two-tone cover gives as the ball spins, but I think it’s better used on a ball with more spin capabilities—a great value for a premium golf ball. Players know what they’re getting.
Final verdict
The Srixon Z-Star XV Divide Golf Ball unlocks distances like I’ve never seen. There’s a confidence that comes on the tee standing over a low-spin distance ball like this. Not only will it curve less in the air, but someone is likely to be half a club closer to the green than they’d normally be.
