About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the iron, which I tested for one day in February of 2023.
My take
In my opinion, the Cobra Aerojets are one of the best iron sets on the market for their value. These clubs are crazy consistent and fly off the face in a hurry. I recommend these to any series golfer, but definitely to someone who wants to compete at a high level.

How it performs
Why I chose to test this club
These irons are one of the most consistent, forgiving irons I have swung. I was consistently hitting the ball straighter with a high draw and carrying the ball 10 yards further than my old set. Even when I felt the ball come off the toe, it still traveled straight and landed within 10 yards of my “pure” iron shots.
What I love about it
- Distance: The distance on these irons is crazy. 10 yards easily were added to each iron I tested. My current 7 iron is dialed in at 170 yards, and I carried the ball consistently at 180–181 yards with the Aerojets.
- Forgiveness: In my opinion, these are one of the most forgiving irons on the market. They advertise a new PWR Shell Back design that allows forgiveness all along the face, which checks out. Contact in the middle and off the toe has very little disparity.
- Feel: These irons and hybrids have a tremendous feel to them. They are lightweight, and I can tell when I really connect on a pure shot.
- Workability: With the Aerojets, I can move the ball from left to right with a high draw pretty consistently.
- Adjustability: These irons are straightforward. I don’t need anything fancy; I prefer standard stock items, so I am happy with their performance.
- Aesthetic Appeal: Sleek, simple design looks cool from behind when addressing the ball.
- Launch Angle: The launch angle is a little high, but I hit a draw, so I actually prefer the ball to go higher and land softly onto the green.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Sound: Average sound. Nothing crazy about them, but nothing to truly get excited about as it sounds like a thud off the face.
- Shaft Performance: Irons felt great. The hybrid shaft was set at regular flex, so if someone is considering the hybrids, they should ensure they are properly fitted for the correct shaft that matches their swing speed.
- Grip Feel: Standard Lamkin Crossline grips. I like custom Golf Pride grips on my irons, so I would replace them with new grips once purchased.
- Spin: The spin rate was a little higher than I would have liked. I was hovering around 8,000 rpms with a 7-iron but lowered it slightly as I hit more balls, as I believe a lower spin rate allows me to keep my iron play straighter.
Best shot with this club
First shot into the simulator, I struck it pure. I was hitting a 7 iron and looking to be around 165-170 carry, and to my amazement, it was 180.1 yards. These irons are ridiculous regarding distance and continue to hover around the 180 mark with my 7-iron on the following swings.
Value for the money vs. other options
This set is an amazing buy if one wants to upgrade their irons. Most top-end iron sets are above the $1,000 mark alone, and when one adds hybrids, they start pushing over $1,500. These stay within a price range that I believe is affordable for someone looking to improve their overall game. I would compare them very similarly to the TaylorMade Stealth irons as they perform very well and share the same retail price.
Final verdict
The clubs unlock crazy distance and consistency. The sleek design drew me in, and once I started hitting bombs, I wanted everyone to know these clubs were the real deal. So anyone looking to break 90 or compete in their club championship should try these irons.
