About this Review: This review is my honest opinion of the golf balls, which I purchased with my own money in March of 2023.
My take
The Srixon Z-Star Divide is great for a low to mid-handicap golfer wanting to use a high-quality three-piece golf ball. It’s ideal for a player that wants a lot of spin around the greens and on full shots from the fairway. The Z-Star Divide is also a good ball for players looking for something to help with alignment.

How it performs
What I was looking for
I was testing out different golf balls because I wanted to pick one and stick with it. Alignment has always been an issue for me when putting. So the Srixon Z-Star Divide golf balls appealed to me right away.

Why I chose this golf ball
I bought the Srixon Z-Star Divide because the normal Z-Star ball is great for a mid-ball flight and greenside spin. I wanted a ball that produces a lot of greenside spin and would not spin very much with my driver. The Z-Star is great for that. Then I chose to test out the Divide balls because of alignment.
Divide!
What I love about it
- Distance: This ball is more focused on maximizing spin around the greens and providing an exceptional feel on approach shots. I am pleased with the distance from this ball, but if distance were my main focus, I would have gone with the Z-Star XV. The Z-Star XV is more focused on distance and less on greenside spin.
- Feel: Great feel from this ball. For being a higher quality three-piece urethane golf ball, it has a really nice soft feel to it.
- Green Spin: The ball spins just like I want them to around the greens—one hop and stop. The Z-Star Divide (and normal Z-Star) provides the most spin out of all the Z-Series golf balls from Srixon.
- Durability: I am happy with the durability of the ball. It is just as durable as any other high-quality golf ball with a premium urethane cover.
- Color: I am really pleased with the finish on these golf balls. The two different colors really help with alignment when putting. Both sides of the ball have more of a glossy finish.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Other: If a player is looking for a very soft feel, this would not be the best option for them. It is still a soft option compared to other models but not as soft feeling as some two-piece golf balls. In addition, if a player wants their ball to roll up onto the green, this would not be a good ball for them. This ball will sit and spin.

Best shot with this golf ball
One shot that comes to mind is an approach shot from 112 yards. I hit a somewhat full 50-degree wedge and faded it in just over the left side of the pin. The ball hopped twice and then spun back about seven yards, leaving me with a nice 5-foot birdie putt.
Value for the money vs. other options
The Srixon Z-Star Divide golf balls are a great value for being a high-quality three-piece golf ball. Other similar balls like the TaylorMade TP5, Titleist ProV1, and Callaway Chromesoft are all in the $50-$55 range. That said, the Divide is a great price for these balls compared to other brands.
Final verdict
The Srixon Z-Star Divide golf balls are great for players wanting a high-quality three-piece urethane golf ball but do not want to spend $50+ per dozen. They perform just like any other excellent quality ball from other top brands in the industry.
