The Tour Edge Pure Feel Template Alps Putter is a mallet style putter with a very popular style and shape. Because putting is an integral part of my game, I need a putter that not only aids in alignment, but also has good feel off the face. I found that this putter does just that for me.

How it performs
What I was looking for
My putter will be used more than any clubs in my bag during a round. So I wanted to find a putter that has a great look behind the ball that will allow me to putt freely with confidence. I was also looking for a putter that works with my style of putting and assists me with easy alignment.
Why I chose this club
The first thing I noticed about this putter was the shape and style. It is a mallet style putter with side flanges. It was very pleasing to my eye. Then I noticed a very clear alignment aid to help me get my ball rolling right down the target line. Next, I noticed that this putter also has a CNC Milled micro-groove face, which I knew would help reduce skidding off the face and provide a soft feel.
What I love about it
- Face Feel: Feel is very important to me, and the feel of this putter is awesome. The micro-groove technology provides an extremely soft feel. And not just on short putts. Even on longer putts, the feel is very soft and consistent.
- Forgiveness: I love the forgiveness of this putter. Again, the micro-groove technology assists with each stroke. So even when it's not my best stroke, I notice that the ball still starts to roll end over end with much skidding. Also, the side flanges add stability.
- Weight: This putter is on the lighter side for mallet putters. But that is exactly what I was looking for. The green speeds can be fast at many of the courses I play. Here in the desert, it can be like putting on glass in the summer, and I needed something to help with my distance control—so I chose a lighter putter.
- Alignment: The Tour Edge Alps putter has Contrast Technology Alignment aid. And for this putter, the body is stainless steel while the alignment aid is black. It is super easy to line up my putts with this putter. The alignment aid is as thick as the golf ball. If I misalign, I can't blame the club.
- Length: It comes in 33, 34, and 35 inch length. I chose 34 inches because of my long arms.
- Aesthetic Appeal: I really love the looks of this putter. It’s made from 304 stainless steel. However, the topline is bead-blasted, so I am not looking down into a mirror.
Issues I’ve encountered
- Adjustability: Some more expensive putters have adjustable weights and weight kits, which is helpful. So I do encounter problems adjusting to slower green speed due to the lighter weight of this putter.
- Grip Feel: PureFeel TAC is the grip used. It is oversized, which I like, and helps keep me from getting too “wristy” during my stroke. However, for me, the grip is too short. It could be about 1–2 inches longer. Then it would be perfect.
Best Putt with this Putter
I don’t have just one putt that stands out. However, I recently played a nine-hole round and had six one-putts. I just couldn't miss. Was it me or the putter? I will give credit to the putter because of the easy alignment and great feel.
Value for the money vs. other options
When I first saw this putter, it reminded me of the Scotty Cameron Phantom X. It’s very similar in shape. Now, I'm not saying that this putter feels better than a Scotty, but for hundreds of dollars less, it is well worth it in my mind.
Final verdict
I feel really good about my decision to purchase the Tour Edge Pure Feel Alps Putter. It has everything I was looking for in a new putter. It is forgiving, rolls the ball extremely well, and features a soft feel.
