About this Review: This is my honest opinion of the pellet grill cover, which I have purchased with my own money three times in the last ten years, and used consistently over that time.

My take

The Camp Chef Long Patio Pellet Grill Cover is one of the best grill covers I’ve ever used. It provides some of the best protection from the elements for any patio cover (not just grills). In addition, the durability holds up in all weather and lasts more than a year.

What I was looking for

I wanted a cover that was designed for my grill. I had used a generic cover for a short period of time, but it tore very quickly because it didn’t fit the grill right.

Why I chose this product

I chose the Camp Chef cover because it is designed for my grill, and I expect it would serve the purpose better than others out there.

The grill after using the cover for 6 years of protection

What I love about it

  • Durability and Quality: It has survived every type of weather. It took about three years before it needed to be replaced. The grill cover is made from high-quality material that lasts.
  • Ease of use: The cover comes in different size options to fit over any size Camp Chef grill.
  • Features: The tan/brown color differs from most other grill covers. Camp Chef selected the color because it is the most fade-resistant. When a grill cover fades, it weakens the protection it provides, so by not fading as quickly or as much as others, the protection provided lasts longer.
  • Portability: The cover can be moved anywhere pretty easily.
  • Performance: The grill cover allows me to not worry about the weather conditions and know that the grill is protected.

Issues I’ve encountered

  • Versatility: It only works with Camp Chef pellet grills.

Favorite moment with this product

My Camp Chef DLX has used this cover for nearly six years and has no weather-related wear. I don’t have a particular favorite moment because it only covers the grill when not in use.

Value for the money vs. other options

The cover is about the same price one would expect from most grill covers. One may find other generic covers online that fit, but they will not be designed to fit the Camp Chef grills and will not protect the grill well. However, the Camp Chef Pellet Grill Cover is worth the money because it holds up and lasts.

Final verdict

I’ve used the Camp Chef cover for my Camp Chef DLX for over five years and, more recently, on my Woodwind Pro. It holds up incredibly well in terms of color and protection. Unfortunately, I had to replace the original cover on my DLX after three-ish years. The one pictured on the DLX is about three years old, and it has some staining but still works well.
