Expert Reviews of the Titleist TSR2 Driver
Kyle Emery The Titleist TSR2 is a great all-around performing driver for players looking for a forgiving model that produces top-of-class distances and a consistent ball flight. When testing the TSR2, I enjoyed the added forgiveness it offered over the TSR3/TSR4 options while maintaining a low spin ball fight. The higher forgiveness can be attributed to the Multi-Plateau Variable Face Thickness Design that expands consistency across the entire face. I also immediately noticed the soft feel on contact. I've found a lot of drivers today are getting more muted or dull feeling off the face, which is not the case with the TSR2. High forgiveness, low spin, and soft feel in a classic and clean design encapsulate what the TSR2 brings to a golfer's bag. I highly recommend the TSR2 for any low-to-high handicap player looking for a forgiving driver option that produces low spin and a consistent ball flight.
Christopher Colburn This driver is amazing!!! It partners up an amazing design, with amazing performance. It is one of titleist best offerings for the driver, and is a very forgiving option for many golfers. It is a very good looking, and good performing driver, as well as an excellent driver for anyone from an average joe golfer, to your tour pro.
Dustin M I personally would recommend this driver for a great step-up driver. Its not not the most forgiving but forgiving enough for a beginner that can hit the ball well. The Distance is amazing and the sound is even better. The Hosel system guarantees that you can get the lie you want/need and adjust the loft up and down. Titleist has one of the most adjustable hosels on the market to use to your advantage.

Kyle Emery gave 3 of 5 stars. I don't typically shape shots or work the ball very frequently. With that said, in my range sessions, where I try different shots and feel out the driver the most, it is consistent with a repeatable ball flight. Most of my shots are draws, and I would say 90% of my practice shots are my typical shot shape, with the other 10% working more toward straight. Other models in the TSR lineup, like the TSR3 or TSR4, would be much better suited for workability.

Kyle Emery gave 5 of 5 stars. Hitting the TSR2 driver on the range and during the course of a round, I find my confidence builds tremendously the more I hit it. Performance off the face is very consistent. My typical ball flight is a draw, and I find it very easy to hit my typical shot shape. My ball striking isn't always on point, and I feel the added forgiveness work for me. In my first round out with the TSR2, I hit 10 of 14 fairways and attribute a lot of that to its level of forgiveness.

Taking this to the driving range for the first time, it was apparent from the first few swings that we would be a match. It's responsive. I can tell exactly where on the face I hit the ball. It's soft and crisp, not dull or muted in feel in any way, which is becoming common with other drivers on the market. Having owned multiple Titleist drivers, this has a very classic overall feel compared to some past models.

I feel the rear weighting and refined aerodynamic shape help get the ball in the air and can do so repeatedly. It comes in four different lofts and can further adjust the loft on the SureFit Hosel, giving a desired ball flight for a wide range of preferences.

Off the very first tee on my first round with the driver, I was ecstatic to hit it about 15 yards further than average with my previous driver. Even on mishit shots, I still notice a longer carry on average. I'm not the longest hitter in the world, so the added distance of the tee is really helpful.

What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Kyle Emery My favorite moment with the TSR2 driver was standing on the first tee for my first round out with it. The first tee shot can always be a little unnerving, especially with a brand-new club. Taking my stock swing, I was delighted to see the first drive on the course go right down the middle with a slight draw on it, ending up on the left side of the fairway. What was most exciting was seeing the ball roll out to about 280 yards, as my average drives typically were around 260-265 with my previous driver. This was a great start and gave me the confidence that I found the right club for my game.
Why did you choose this product?
Kyle Emery After two days of testing at Top Golf and two rounds of golf, I was thoroughly impressed with the TSR2 driver. The top priorities I look for in a new driver are distance, forgiveness, and feel. Since my ball striking can have off days, the added forgiveness of the TSR2 is highly beneficial for my game. The Variable Face Thickness aids off-center strikes to fly straight and maintain most of the distance. Speaking of distance, my favorite feature of the TSR2 is getting about 15 yards more than my previous driver. Anytime I can make a nice jump in my distances is a win in my book. Lastly, the soft and responsive feel off the face lets me know where my strikes were and provides great feedback on contact. After testing all of the drivers for 2023, this one was the clear winner for my game.

What do you love about this product?
Kyle Emery The Titleist TSR2 is an all-around performance beast that offers golfers forgiveness, added distance, and an outstanding feel off the tee that will appeal to a wide range of golfers. From my initial testing, I am completely in love with the TSR2. It checks off a lot of the boxes for me for what I prefer to have in a driver: forgiveness, distance, feel, and looks.
Forgiveness: The TSR2 is very forgiving across the entire face. Mishits aren't overly penalizing from a ball flight and distance perspective. It is a great fit for low to high-handicap players.
Distance: I see an added boost in my distances with the TSR2 over my current driver. After forgiveness, distance is the most important factor for me, so seeing a pickup in yards off the tee is a massive benefit.
Feel: The feel of the TSR2 is a standout feature compared to the other new drivers on the market. In my testing, I found most newer drivers are becoming muted in feel, making it hard to determine where the ball is struck on the face; this is not the case with the TSR2. It has a soft, crisp, and responsive feel that I find very pleasing.
Look: Its look is a bow on the overall package, tying everything together perfectly. A classic, timeless look with no frills. "Clean" and "smooth" continue to come to the front of my mind when describing the visual appeal of the TSR2 head.
These reasons are why the TSR2 driver will be in my bag for the 2023 golf season.

Andrew Howard The Titleist TSR2 Driver is a great option when looking for a variety in shafts that is personalized to your game. Custom and stock shafts are available from 9 different manufactures including: Aldila, Dumina (autoFlex), Fujikura, Graphite Design, Mitsubishi, Oban, Project X, UST Mamiya, and VA Composites. Out of the 9 manufactures there are multiple options in shafts in various flexes, weights, spin production, launch, swing tempo and other factors. There are too many shafts to name in total.
However, with that vast amount of shafts offered it can get a little confusing. To understand these options it will be in your best interest to talk with a Curated Expert to figure out which will fit your game.

Stock Shaft Options:

Kyle Emery The Titleist TSR2 driver is among the top-performing drivers in the 2023 release class. The Titleist TSR2 features Variable Face Thickness for consistent ball speeds across the entire face, producing exceptional distances even on mishits. In testing, it provided better dispersion than the Cobra Aerojet and the Mizuno ST-Z. The aerospace-grade titanium face provides a soft feel that is not quite as muted as the TaylorMade Stealth 2 or the Ping G430. The TSR2 is an all-encompassing model for distance, forgiveness, and feel.
Jackson Shaver This driver is going to be one of the hotter drivers that has some forgiveness as well. This driver is designed to launch the ball high in the air with little spin on the ball. This driver is designed to go straight, so there will be more suitable models on the market for players that like to curve the ball both ways off the tee. They compare best to Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond and TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus. TSR2 promises all the performance with moderate forgiveness, to be wielded by better ball-strikers.
What's the adjustability like on this driver?
Kyle Emery The Titleist TSR2 driver can be adjusted on its hosel sleeve and the rear weight on the back of the head. The Titleist TSR2 is equipped with the Titleist SureFit hosel sleeve. The SureFit hosel sleeve allows for 16 adjustable positions covering different loft and lie combinations. There is a top ring labeled A, B, C, and D, along with a bottom ring labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4. Each letter and number combination produces a different loft/lie adjustment. The TSR2 can adjust the loft by plus 1.5 degrees and minus 0.75 degrees. Additionally, the lie can be adjusted upright by 1.5 degrees and flattened by 0.75 degrees. Added adjustability with the Titleist TSR2 can be found by players when swapping out the weights on the back of the driver's head. Outside of the standard weight included with the head, six available weights make the head lighter or heavier for a desired swing weight or ball flight. Having two ways to adjust the Titleist TSR2 gives it a great amount of versatility and adds to its overall outstanding performance.
Andrew Howard The Titleist TSR 2 Driver has fully adjustable features for the golfer seeking such options. The driver comes in 4 lofts options which includes 8, 9, 10 and 11 degrees. With each option the golfer will be able to adjust -1.5 or +1.5. For example, if you got an 8 loft Titleist TSR 2 Driver you could adjust to as low as 6.5 degrees or as high as 9.5 degrees depending on your preference. The same principle follows with the three other available lofts available in 9, 10 and 11 with a reduction or addition of 1.5 degrees.
