Expert Reviews of the Titleist TSR2 Fairway Wood

The Titleist TSR2 fairway wood is a great option for various players from low to high handicaps looking for a highly forgiving, easy-to-hit fairway wood with an outstanding feel. The TSR2 comes in a sleek design with a player's refined shape that will appeal to many golfers. The smaller footprint provides a lot of confidence at address. It feels much easier to manage from the fairway or the rough. I initially tested the TSR2 fairway wood at Top Golf to get a feel for it and compare it against my current fairway wood. After being really pleased with the overall feel and performance, I purchased the TSR2 to upgrade my older 5-wood. Feel, ball flight, and forgiveness were key features of why I decided to upgrade to the TSR2. I highly recommend the TSR2 fairway wood to any golfer from a single digit to a higher handicap player.
Christopher Colburn These are amazing fairway woods offered by titleist. They are one of the newest offerings and definitely are a rocket launcher. They are constructed of metal that promotes forgiveness, while optimizing launch and distance, these are a great option for almost any level of golfer to add into their bag.
Christopher Colburn This fairway wood is amazing. It is an amazingly good looking iron, and is great for your better ball striking players. It is a narrow faced iron, so it will be for your lower handicapped, better ball striking players, as it offers very little forgiveness but rewards good ball contact.
Cameron Wendel One of the key benefits of the Titleist TSR2 fairway wood is its versatility. The club is designed to handle a variety of shots, whether you need to hit it off the tee or the fairway. The club's shallow face and low center of gravity provide an easy launch and increased ball speed, while the variable face thickness promotes consistent distance even on off-center hits. Another benefit of the Titleist TSR2 fairway wood is its premium materials. The club is made with a high-strength C300 steel face that provides excellent ball speed and distance, and the ultra-thin crown saves weight for more forgiveness and a higher launch. Additionally, the club's SureFit CG allows you to adjust the center of gravity to fine-tune your ball flight. Overall, the Titleist TSR2 Fairway Wood is a top-performing club that delivers exceptional distance, accuracy, and versatility for golfers who demand the best.
I have never been a great fairway wood player, avoided them like the plague, however I got a 4 wood TSR2 and it has quickly became one of my favorite clubs! It has great distance, great roll out and it doesn't punish me when I don't hit it well. I have found myself using it on the short par 4's and long par 5's with far more success than the previous fairway woods I have tried.

Review Ratings

Workability

3/5
gave 3 of 5 stars. The TSR2 fairway wood is a consistent option for a wide range of players. I'm not a player that hits a lot of different shot shapes, but I find the TSR2 consistently plays to my normal ball flight. For added workability with a fairway wood, the TSR3 model would better suit players.

Forgiveness

5/5
gave 5 of 5 stars. The TSR2 fairway wood is highly forgiving across a majority of the face. Shots all the way on the toe or the heel certainly alter the ball flight, but other shots within that 90% of the middle of the face have distances and ball flight that keep me competitive in a hole. Based on the higher level of forgiveness, I believe this fairway wood will fit a wide range of players.

Sound

5/5
gave 5 of 5 stars. The sound is very similar to prior models of Titleist fairway woods. It's a crisp and clean sound at impact that I find very pleasing and better than other fairway wood models I've tested. Other models on the market can have a muted sound, something one won't experience on the TSR2.

Launch

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The consistency of the TSR2 was fantastic to see in testing and out on the course. I tend to play a draw and find the TSR2 to be able to produce that shot shape time and again. The repeatability and ease of accomplishing my desired ball flight are major reasons for adding the TSR2 to my bag.

Distance

5/5
gave 5 of 5 stars. I gain an extra 5-7 yards from the fairway with the TSR2. Off the tee, I can see a little bit more distance averaging closer to 7-10 yards further. Adding more distance is typically the first or second most important aspect I look for in a new fairway. I am very pleased with the added distance I gained with the TSR2.

FAQs

What was your favorite moment with this gear?

During my testing of the TSR2 fairway wood, I really enjoyed how consistent and repeatable the ball flight was both off the tee and the deck. My typical shot shape is a draw, and I consistently achieved that ball flight. When deciding on a fairway wood to add, I focus on how consistent and forgiving it is to give me the most predictability for launch and ball flight. The TSR2 gave me the confidence that I'll be able to accomplish that in either scenario.

Why did you choose this product?

The Titleist TSR2 fairway wood is an all-around performer for a wide range of golfers, from low to high-handicap players. I decided to add in the TSR2 fairway wood to my bag due to its consistency, distance, and forgiveness. When testing the TSR2 on the range and the course, I was very impressed by how consistent my ball flight was. A repeatable nice high draw that I typically play is great to see. Distance-wise, the TSR2 is consistently longer than an older Titleist fairway wood I currently play. I get about 5-7 yards more with the TSR2 with the same shaft setup as my old fairway. And lastly, the TSR2 is very forgiving. Mishits aren't overly penalizing. The TSR2 maintains most of its distance and flight as if it is struck on center.

What is the value for the money versus other options?

With its all-around performance, the TSR2 fairway wood provides fantastic value for low to high-handicap players. The TSR2 is consistent, forgiving, and produces competitive distances with any fairway wood currently on the market. Additionally, it offers added benefits like a soft, responsive feel and a great look that isn't too bulky.

What do you love about this product?

The TSR2 fairway wood is a forgiving model with a refined shape that will suit a wide range of players. When choosing a new fairway wood, I focus on how easy the fairway wood is to hit off the tee first and then off the deck second. I find both situations are very easy to launch the TSR2. It has a fantastic feel and produces longer distances than my previous fairway wood. Visually, in addition to the refined shape, it has a slightly lower profile, helping lower the center of gravity and assisting with a consistently high launch. I love the TSR2 fairway for its forgiveness, feel, and distance. It was very consistent to hit during my testing, and it was an easy decision to put it in my bag.
