The Wilson Dynapower Fairway Wood is an excellent choice for beginner and intermediate golfers seeking a forgiving club with a high launch and impressive distance. While it lacks adjustability, it's easy to use and delivers a straight flight. The club's moderate forgiveness minimizes the impact of off-center hits, and its high launch aids golfers who need assistance in achieving loft.

Expert Reviews of the Wilson Dynapower Fairway Wood
Miguel B. The Wilson Dynapower Fairway Wood is a general-purpose fairway designed to launch high and stay straight while gaining distance. Beginner and intermediate golfers will benefit from this club. The rear weight on the sole helps launch the ball high and keep forgiveness at a maximum. The AI-designed face keeps ball speeds high on mishits. This club may not be for those with a high backspin. The launch of this club is high, so it helps those who need assistance get a higher launch. The matte black head is greatly appreciated to reduce glare on high sun days. Its classic and medium-large head size helps increase confidence while at address.
Ryan Hernandez Plenty of ball speed to go around in this new model from Wilson. While it is easy to get airborne, it is workable and a great option for more advanced players. The look was developed with input from tour pros like Kevin Kisner, giving it a more player typer appearance. Anyone with a 10 handicap and below should be considering this fairway wood.

Workability
4/5
Ryan Hernandez gave 4 of 5 stars. The Fairway Wood's optimized weight distribution, adjustability features, and clubhead design contribute to its enhanced maneuverability and shot shaping potential. While it may not offer the same level of specialized workability as some dedicated tour-level fairway wood, it still enables golfers to shape their shots and navigate various course situations with confidence. This fairway wood allows players to execute draws, fades, and other shot variations, providing versatility and adaptability on the course. Golfers who value workability and shot shaping capabilities will find the Dynapower Fairway Wood to be a valuable addition to their bag.
Miguel B. gave 4 of 5 stars. A benefit of the club for most players is the point-and-shoot simplicity. It mitigates severe curvature in either direction.
Forgiveness
4/5
Ryan Hernandez gave 3 of 5 stars. This fairway wood is good for helping golfers maintain relatively consistent ball flight. While it may not possess the same level of forgiveness as some more forgiving fairway woods, it still offers a reasonable degree of forgiveness to minimize the impact of mishits. The club's design features, such as a larger sweet spot and strategic weight placement, contribute to its forgiveness attributes. Even when the ball is not struck perfectly, this fairway wood helps golfers achieve respectable distances and accuracy. This level of forgiveness instills confidence and allows players to swing more confidently, knowing that minor mishits won't significantly compromise their results. For golfers seeking a fairway wood that balances forgiveness and performance, the Wilson Dynapower is a suitable option.
Miguel B. gave 5 of 5 stars. Without looking too big, I still feel confident in taking strong swings. This club is a reliable point-and-shoot option I can use from the tee box, fairway, or even light rough.
Feel
4/5
Ryan Hernandez gave 3 of 5 stars. While it may not offer the same level of responsiveness or sensory connection as some higher-end fairway woods, it still provides a decent feel that allows golfers to gauge the quality of their strikes. The club's construction and materials strike a balance between performance and feel, prioritizing forgiveness and distance without compromising entirely on the feedback felt at impact. While golfers might not experience the same level of responsiveness as with more premium options, its feel is still reliable and consistent, providing a satisfactory experience for those seeking a fairway wood that performs well without overly emphasizing the sensory aspect.
Miguel B. gave 4 of 5 stars. The feel of this club is strong and smooth. The variable face thickness is a great feature. Struck on the sweet spot or struck slightly on the toe or heel, I still hit it well. The feeling is enhanced when I see the ball with subtle curvature.
Sound
4/5
Ryan Hernandez gave 3 of 5 stars. While it may not produce the same resonant or distinctive sound as some higher-end fairway woods, it still offers a reliable acoustic experience. This fairway wood's sound profile is influenced by its materials, construction, and other factors, resulting in a moderate and acceptable sound upon striking the ball. Although it may lack the premium sound associated with more expensive options, the Dynapower Fairway Wood delivers a consistent auditory cue that confirms solid strikes. Golfers who prioritize sound feedback in their equipment may find the fairway wood's performance satisfactory, albeit falling within an average range compared to other fairway woods in its class.
Miguel B. gave 4 of 5 stars. The sound of the Dynapower is a solid "thwack." It is not hollow or tinny sounding. I feel confident at impact because the sound supports the solid feel. While other clubs may sound “dead”, “numb”, or “muted," this club does not.
Launch
5/5
Ryan Hernandez gave 4 of 5 stars. Its design, loft, and weight distribution work in synergy to provide an optimal trajectory for maximum performance. The fairway wood's ability to achieve a high launch angle allows golfers to clear obstacles, carry longer distances, and potentially gain more overall distance. Whether it's hitting approach shots into greens or using the fairway wood off the tee on par 4s or par 5s, the 4/5 stars for launch make it a reliable choice for players seeking consistent and elevated ball flight characteristics. The high launch achieved by the fairway wood contributes to increased carry distance, potentially leading to more scoring opportunities on the course.
Miguel B. gave 5 of 5 stars. Most amateur players seek a club with reliable mid-to-high launches that will not balloon up and lose distance. The Dynapower can provide the launch one needs to maximize carry distance. This launch helps me hold greens and prevents me from running through the green.
Distance
4/5
Ryan Hernandez gave 4 of 5 stars. Its construction, technologies, and optimized weight distribution contribute to maximizing ball speed and carry, resulting in substantial distance gains. The fairway wood's design is geared towards generating distance, allowing golfers to reach greens or set up shorter approach shots with greater ease. This wood consistently delivers long and powerful shots, providing golfers with an advantage when attacking the course. Whether it's par 5s that require strategic positioning or fairway shots that demand precision and distance, the fairway wood's 4/5 stars for distance make it an attractive choice for players seeking optimal performance in terms of length and overall scoring capabilities.
Miguel B. gave 4 of 5 stars. I call the strong performance of both distance and forgiveness "quality distance." The forgiveness of this club keeps golfers in bounds and closer to their target, giving them the quality distance most players want.
FAQs
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Ryan Hernandez My favorite moment with the Wilson DynaPower Fairway Wood was when I effortlessly launched a perfect high-arching second shot on the touch Par 5 7th on the Wild Horse North Course. The shot sailed through the air, landed softly on the green, and left me with a 15 ft eagle putt. Pure bliss.
Miguel B. I used this during a round and loved two moments. One was using the fairway into a green for my second shot on a par 5. With that swing, the club launched the ball high and with a subtle fade that didn’t get away from me. This club is forgiving. I also used it off the tee box on a short par 4 and got a similar tight fade with a high launch that landed nicely in the fairway.
Why did you choose this product?
Ryan Hernandez I chose the Wilson DynaPower Fairway Wood because of its smaller profile and accuracy. Plus, its workability and solid feel in my hands made it a true competitor this year in the fairway wood market.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Ryan Hernandez When it comes to value for the money, the Wilson Dynapower Fairway Wood truly stands out among its competitors. Compared to other models in its price range, such as the Callaway Paradym and the TaylorMade Stealth, the Paradym offers comparable performance at a more affordable price point. You're getting a premium club without breaking the bank, making it an excellent investment for golfers looking to upgrade their fairway game without emptying their wallets.
Miguel B. The value for the money on this club is high. While there are more expensive fairway metals, this club does what most users need. It gets the ball down range with a high launch and straight path. It’s reliably forgiving.
What do you love about this product?
Ryan Hernandez The Wilson DynaPower Fairway Wood is a game-changer. Its sleek design and superior control make it a joy to hit those fairway shots. Total confidence booster.
