These fairway woods, they are one of srixon's best offerings in the department of woods and are an excellently built clubs featuring many different components put together to offer a very higher performing fairway at a reasonable price for the quality of club you are going to be putting in your bag.

Expert Reviews of the Srixon ZX MKII Fairway Wood

Christopher Colburn This fairway wood is one of Srixon's best offerings in the woods department. It is an excellently built club featuring many different components to offer a higher-performing fairway at a reasonable price for its quality.
Jonathan Belanger The ZK MKII fairway wood is a great club made by Srixon. They have 3+, 3, 5, and 7W options to fit every golfer and loads of shaft and grip options to suit one's game best. This fairway wood is forgiving, sounds great, and gets the ball up in the air. I am surprised by the distance and consistency that I get while using the club. The one negative I have about the club is that it doesn't have an adjustable hosel, so it club can only be ordered to one spec, and that's it. There isn't room to change the lie, loft, or how open or closed the face is.
Johnny Montes This fairway wood line is for golfers who can hit the center of the face and whose misses are low or high center. The ZX MKII fairway offers a faster ball speed with the Rebound Frame, Cannon Sole, and Carbon Crown Technology. I have gamed this since January 2023. My 3-wood launches higher and spins better than anything I've had previously. I don't get the height when I miss the ball on the toe or heel. But if I hit the ball low or high in the center of the face, I get a similar distance and similar trajectory.

Review Ratings

Workability

4/5
Jonathan Belanger gave 4 of 5 stars. The ZX MKII fairway wood provides workability to shape shots left to right or right to left. Changing the height of my shot is a little harder to do with how forgiving the club is, but the consistency with distance makes shot shaping easier. Overall, I don’t have to overwork my swing to get the ball moving one way or the other, but it is harder to flight down, especially the 5W.

Forgiveness

4/5
Jonathan Belanger gave 4 of 5 stars. The ZX MKII fairway wood is very forgiving. I find that I have plenty of height, even on low strikes, and I am pleasantly surprised with how consistent the distance is with the club. I can shape shots if needed, but it does that exceptionally, considering that most people use a 5W to keep the ball in play.

Feel

4/5
Jonathan Belanger gave 4 of 5 stars. The clubface of the ZX MKII feels great. Hitting a ball off the center of the face feels fantastic, but off-center hits don’t feel terrible. One will know where they missed on the face, but it’s not punishing from a feel perspective. The turf interaction also feels great when I hit off the deck with this fairway wood.

Sound

4/5
Jonathan Belanger gave 4 of 5 stars. Since the 5W is pretty much only titanium, the sound is a little higher pitched than other woods I’ve had before. The sound gives me fairway woods from the 90s vibes, but to me, there’s no better combo than hearing that explosive TING combined with a great ball flight, but one's mileage may vary.

Launch

5/5
Jonathan Belanger gave 5 of 5 stars. The launch of the Srixon ZX MKII is fantastic. The ball launches up in the air and floats, which is exactly what I was looking for in a 5W. Strikes low on the face still allow the ball to get up in the air, and it cuts out some of the low bullets that I’ve had issues with.

Distance

4/5
Jonathan Belanger gave 4 of 5 stars. The goal of the 5W to me was to hit 225 consistently. The Stealth 2+ will go further, and there are other fairway woods meant for distance. The ZX MKII provides plenty of distance, but it excels in distance consistency. I am thoroughly impressed with how consistent the distance is with off-center strikes.

FAQs

What was your favorite moment with this gear?

Jonathan Belanger I had 230 left on a par 5 to a hole up on a small hill tucked away to the left with trees guarding the green. I picked my target line and uncorked a high draw that finished just to the left of the green. I never had confidence that I would get close to a green from 200+ yards away until I used this club.

Why did you choose this product?

Jonathan Belanger I wanted a 5W because I had a gap in my bag between my longest iron and 3W. I had a hybrid that I wasn‘t hitting great, so I gave this club a go. I liked the look of the finish and head shape.

What is the value for the money versus other options?

Jonathan Belanger This club offers great value in comparison to other top brands. The performance and looks are on par. However, most other brands have some adjustability with their fairway woods, whereas the 5W I tested did not.

What do you love about this product?

Jonathan Belanger I love how easy it is the hit, how forgiving it is, and how much launch it provides, especially when hitting off the deck.
