The Curated Take
4.5/5
The Srixon Z Forged II Irons are ideal for low-handicap players with good ball-striking skills. With a unique head shape and added weight behind the face center, these irons offer easy ball workability and a solid, smooth feel on center-hit shots. Compared to other blades, the wider face allows some forgiveness on off-center strikes. The V-shaped sole ensures a smooth feel through the turf, and the low to mid launch profile is optimal for high-speed swingers. Despite their blade classification, these irons offer excellent distance control, making them a top-notch choice for skilled players.

Expert Reviews of the Srixon Z Forged II Irons
Christopher Colburn These irons are definitely a player's iron designed for lower-handicapped, more advanced-striking players. They promote workability and shot shape for the more advanced golfer; with these being a blade, one will feel immediate feedback if they hit a bad shot with vibration in the shaft after the ball strike.
John D This iron is designed for the low handicap that wants complete control over their iron game. I've played 15 rounds with this set, and they check all the boxes. The set offers great feel, sound, workability, and trajectory control. These are some of the best blade models on the market. The V.T. sole grind is an incredible innovation. The varying sole widths and bounce angles give the Z II irons an edge over other blade models on the market. A super consistent feel from any lie is what sticks out most. The one downside to this iron set is I had a couple of off days when my ball striking wasn't great, and wow, could I feel it—extremely penal on off-center strikes, loss of distance, and exaggerated misses based on clubface and path errors. All in all, if someone is looking for a premium-feeling modern blade where they're in complete control of the outcome of every shot, I would highly recommend the Srixon Z II Forged irons.
Sara Bryant My husband received the new Srixon Z II Forged Irons a couple of weeks ago and loves them! They look extremely clean from the top. Minimal offset gives the appearance of the irons being perfectly straight from the shaft to the leading edge. The face is slightly smaller than the previous model. However, Srixon's blades have a larger face than most companies' blades. He notices that his ball striking is naturally improving with the slightly smaller face. However, even on miss-hit shots, the ball still travels a similar distance to the well-struck shots. These irons are great for aspiring pros or low-handicap players looking for a high-level blade.
Review Ratings
Workability
4/5
Sara Bryant gave 4 of 5 stars. Blades are the easiest models to work the ball if one can consistently hit the center of the face. But most blades make it challenging to work the ball consistently as their designs are often ridged and compact. The Z Forged II irons have a unique head shape. Srixon added weight directly behind the center of the face. This makes working the ball left, right, high, and low easy. It also makes center-hit shots feel solid and smooth. It takes some time to get used to as the face on the Forged II design is smaller than on the previous model, making the ideal contact point on the face smaller.
Forgiveness
4/5
Sara Bryant gave 4 of 5 stars. The Srixon Z Forged II Irons have a slightly wider face than other blades, making off-center strikes somewhat forgiving. There is little room for error, so the forgiveness is rated based on other blades on the market. The design of the head adds weight directly behind the center of the face. Given how thin this blade is, one would think it would feel flimsy in contact with the ball. However, the added weight behind the center of the face makes the club feel solid upon contact and provides a great feel.
Feel
5/5
Sara Bryant gave 5 of 5 stars. Blades are tough to play as they are unforgiving, have a small head design, and feel heavy off the face. The Srixon Z Forged II Irons are built differently. The V-shaped sole allows the club to move effortlessly through the turf. I don't feel any resistance when I swing. Even in the rough, it is easy to swing and feels excellent. The cut-out in the heel also assists with reducing resistance when in the rough.
Sound
5/5
Sara Bryant gave 5 of 5 stars. Srixon collaborated with a couple of their tour pros to create the Z Forged II irons. Professionals are very picky regarding the sound of their equipment, so I know they did an excellent job if the top tour pros are using and loving them. It sounds so smooth when it moves through the turf and when I take a solid divot or mishit it. I enjoy the sound I hear just after I make contact with the ball. It sounds like a rocket flying toward the green.
Launch
4/5
Sara Bryant gave 4 of 5 stars. The Srixon Z Forged II iron heads provide a low to mid launch and low to mid spin profile. This is ideal for professional to scratch golfers with higher swing speeds. However, with the launch profile being low to mid, it provides an element of workability in the irons. I can launch the ball high to get over trees or keep it low to the ground for the stingers. The Srixon Z Forged II Irons also have an optimized groove design for the 3-iron to 7-iron being wider and the 8-iron to pitching wedge having closer and deeper grooves. Wider grooves on the longer irons help to lower the spin and launch to push the ball out instead of up. Whereas the closer, deeper grooves in the shorter irons help to increase the spin and launch to get the ball to land softly on the green.
Distance
5/5
Sara Bryant gave 5 of 5 stars. With the Srixon Z Forged II Irons, I do not need to swing hard to get the ball to travel far. A smooth, consistent swing is all I need. Off-center shots are consistent, and I do not lose as much distance as one would think. The launch profile of these irons helps with distance control. I can work the ball and keep the same distance consistency. The V-shaped sole also helps with turf interaction assisting the club in not losing speed upon impact.
FAQs
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Sara Bryant My favorite moment with this gear was the first time I hit them. They just feel so smooth through the turf and sound so pure. They take some getting used to as the face is smaller than the previous model.
Why did you choose this product?
Sara Bryant I chose the Srixon Z Forged II Irons because they are a top brand with high-quality equipment. After hitting these irons a couple of times, they felt much better than any other blade I have hit. The face is slightly larger than any other brand's blades, making them slightly forgiving. Still, I am more consistent in hitting the ball in the center of the face. What I like about these irons is the V-shaped sole. This provides excellent turf interaction. It feels like butter. The minimal offset gives a streamlined look from the shaft to the face.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Sara Bryant A new set of blades is costly. Since blades are made for the top-performing players, they have a lot of technology and care that goes into them. The Srixon Z Forged II Irons are less expensive than any other quality blade model on the market. They should be more costly than they are for quality and performance. And, depending on how much one plays, the grooves last longer than other models.
What do you love about this product?
Sara Bryant I love the V-shaped sole on the Srixon Z Forged II Irons. It makes the club move very easily through the turf. No resistance. I also like its minimal offset, giving it a clean look from the shaft down to the leading edge.
