The Curated Take
4.6/5
The Odyssey DFX Seven Putter is ideal for golfers who often overshoot the hole. Its soft face insert and balanced design enable smoother, more consistent putting, while the white-on-black color scheme enhances alignment and reduces glare. The oversized grip offers an excellent hand fit and stroke fluidity. However, the pistol grip may not suit everyone. Its forgiving nature and affordable price point make it a standout choice for golfers of all skill levels seeking improved accuracy and reduced scores.

Expert Reviews of the Odyssey DFX Seven Putter
David L. Brown This product is solid for someone looking to switch to a mallet putter. It is lighter weight allowing the golfer to feel the ball on contact. This does create more effort on longer lag puts to make the ball reach the hole. This putter will help the mid to high handicapper stay within their budget but also help them feel the ball come off the face and sink more putts.
Ari T The Odyssey DFX Seven Putter is a perfect putter for someone looking for a soft-feeling mallet putter with enhanced alignment and extra forgiveness. Not for someone who likes a blade shape or a slimmer look. Not for someone who needs toe-down balance. The face balance design will help square the face and avoid shutting it down through impact. Great feel from the soft DFX insert. Great value.
Lance Navin This is the current putter in my bag that I use each time I go out on the course. I love the feel and balance of this club, and it feels extremely light for the size of the putter head. It came with a great head cover that has held up well to repeated use. I tend to overshoot the hole on long puts, and the DFX line really helps to curb that with the soft feel of the face while striking the ball. I use a 35" putter with the oversized grip, but I will say that the pistol grip did not feel right for this club while testing that one. The pistol grip threw off the balance and felt too small in my hands for the size of the head. Overall this putter is very forgiving, feels great, hits smooth, and is great for golfers of all skill levels.
Owen D This product is a great budget option for golfers looking for a mallet feeling without wanting to break the bank! This putter feels like any mallet, except for its bulky design. For those who do not mind a bulky feeling at address, this putter executes putts wonderfully, and it does not affect the speed control whatsoever.

Forgiveness
4/5
Lance Navin gave 4 of 5 stars. My experience has shown this club to be very forgiving. I tend to overshoot the hole on my putts, but this putter has reduced that for me, and the soft face insert helps keep my putts at a desirable distance. I gave this category 4 stars, though, because this club may be harder for someone to use who undershoots the hole consistently on their putts. When I have a bad shot and misread the green, the soft face helps me miss small instead of far.
Alignment
5/5
Lance Navin gave 5 of 5 stars. The white-on-black color scheme makes it very easy to align my ball and see exactly where I'm aiming. With the base color being matte black, there is a very low reflection from the sun, which reduces eye strain while putting. The three-line setup is nice, and the middle line is the perfect height to line up directly to the line on my ball.
Grip
4/5
Lance Navin gave 4 of 5 stars. I think the oversized grip is perfect on this club and would rate that 5 stars; however, I gave this section 4 stars because I do not like the pistol grip on this club setup. The pistol grip is too small for this club and doesn't feel like the same balance the oversized grip gives. The oversized grip fits in my hands perfectly. It allows a very smooth stroke, resulting in less pulling of my putts and more consistency.
Feel
5/5
Lance Navin gave 5 of 5 stars. With the oversized grip, this club is very balanced, creating a smooth feel each time I putt it. The grip is the perfect size for me and still has this club feeling very lightweight. The smooth face insert has a great feel and a nice-sounding hit, no matter where I hit it on the clubface.
Balance
5/5
Lance Navin gave 5 of 5 stars. With the oversized grip on this putter, it is perfectly balanced. The mallet head is very lightweight and produces a consistent, smooth swing every time. The pistol grip feels a little off; however, the oversized grip creates that perfect balance that I am looking for.
FAQs
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Lance Navin My favorite moment with this putter is the confidence it provides while playing. With my older putter, I would get nervous on my putts because I kept overshooting the hole and ruining birdie opportunities. With this putter, I have less stress and more confidence resulting in fewer putts and reducing my score drastically.
Why did you choose this product?
Lance Navin I tested multiple putters from various brands because I was unhappy with my old putter. After all of the testing, this putter stood out among all of them for the feel, the balance, and the consistency. It also is offered at a great price point that I couldn't pass up.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Lance Navin The DFX Seven Putter retails for under $150, so it's a great value for the money compared to other mallet-style putters. Comparable competitors like the TaylorMade Spider GT putter cost more money and don't seem to have the same balance and weight distribution. The Odyssey is a very lightweight putter that is perfectly balanced and has a very smooth feel while hitting the ball. I have yet to find another better putter in this price range.
What do you love about this product?
Lance Navin I love the balance, the weight, the feel, and the consistency this putter offers. It's a huge bonus that I get all of that with this club's price point. I have played multiple rounds with this club and have hit hundreds of putts with it, and it has not shown wear and tear so far and is holding up great.
