Brand Claims

What does Titleist claim about this club? Titleist claims that this T300 Iron is going to be great for distance, really nice for forgiveness, and has a real easy launch that is going to appeal to a lot of mid to high handicap players.

Overall Impressions

What are the specs of the club you are testing? The 7-Iron’s a 29 degree loft with the True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 stiff flex shaft.

What is your overall impression of the club? My impressions of the Titleist T300 Irons were that they were really easy to hit, really easy to launch, and I saw a slight bit of added distance over my current clubs.

Review

How is it for forgiveness and workability? The Titleist T300 Irons are highly forgiving. They are focused a little bit higher in forgiveness, so someone who likes to work the ball or shape shots in both directions may be a little bit more suited to go with other models.

How is its launch? They are really easy to hit, very easy to launch.

How is it in terms of distance, ball speed, weight, and feel? The Titleist T300 Irons has implemented a new Max Impact technology that enhances the polymer in the core of the head to help with more distance and give a little bit better of a feel on impact, and also a little bit more ball speed coming off the face. Titleist also implemented 40% more Tungsten weighting inside the head to help out with ball speed and unlock some more added distance with these irons.

What do you find unique about its appearance? One aspect of the Titleist T300 that I really enjoyed was just the overall shaping and look of these irons for a higher forgiving club. They don't have an overly aggressive, wide topline or an overly exaggerated amount of sole with a super wide offset. I found the sizing to be really moderate on these and do feel like that is going to appeal to a wide range of players.

What may make a player shy away from it? A player may shy away from the Titleist T300 Irons due to the overall sizing and shape of them. Some may like a slightly slimmer top line that doesn't have as much offset to help with shot shaping and give you the confidence to move the ball in both directions. A player who wants a little bit more workability may also avoid it.

How would you describe the sound of this club at impact? The Titleist T300 irons have a little bit of a clicky sound to them. A more advanced player may not enjoy this sound. It isn't something that is off-putting to me, but do know that there are players out there who won’t prefer the clicking. It certainly doesn't impact performance in any way, but it’s a consideration to keep in mind.

Are there any drawbacks to this club? While the Titleist T300 Irons provide excellent distance and forgiveness, some players might not appreciate their somewhat bulky look and the distinct sound on impact. The clickiness of them is certainly not going to appeal to every player. Additionally, advanced players seeking workability in their shots might be disappointed as these clubs are primarily designed for high forgiveness.

Anything else you would like to mention about these clubs? Considering the design and performance of the Titleist T300 Irons, they should perform well in a variety of golf conditions. However, in extremely windy conditions, the higher trajectory that these clubs tend to produce could potentially make it more difficult to control ball flight.

Recommendations

Who would you recommend this club to? I would recommend the Titleist T300 Irons to mid to high handicappers who are looking for a game improvement iron that offers excellent distance and forgiveness. This would be especially suitable for those who struggle with getting enough height on their shots and who want an easy-to-launch club.

Who should avoid this club, and what type of club would be a better option for that player? Advanced players who like to shape their shots and require more workability might want to avoid the Titleist T300 Irons. For these players, the T100 or T200 irons, which offer more control and a slimmer profile, might be a better fit. Those who like a little bit more forgiveness with a little bit more offset to help out with a slice miss would be more inclined to go with the T400 set of irons. Players who prefer a more traditional sound and feel on impact might want to consider other iron sets.
