The Odyssey Toulon Stroke Lab San Diego Putter, a high-end blade-style putter, is designed for advanced golfers seeking consistency and a great feel. Its unique balance and multi-material shaft ensure smooth and controlled shots. The putter excels at center strikes, offering controlled distance and roll, while off-center hits slightly affect performance. The classic design aids in alignment, while the midsize grip enhances balance and handling. It's perfect for golfers who value quality design and precision.

Expert Reviews of the Odyssey Toulon Stroke Lab San Diego Putter

This putter has an unmatched feel and consistency. Since I first hit a putt with this club, it has felt great off the clubface. The Diamond groove mill pattern clubface feels great putt after putt. The all-black clubhead and single top line give a nice sleek visual at address and through the shot. The multi-material Stroke Lab shaft adds to the sound and feel of the club. This club looks and performs like the high-end club it is. At a higher price level, it is for the low-handicap golfers invested in their game.
Anthony Pragano This is a stellar putter and has been with me for years! I was gifted this putter from Callaway and Joe Toulon, the son and co-creator of Toulon design putters. He was also nice enough to stamp my full name on the back of the putter. I first tested this putter out at our Callaway Pro Fitting day for current PGA, LPGA, Korn Ferry (Web.com at the time), and Symetra Tour players. Graeme McDowell and Annika were a couple of the pros there that day. The look of this putter is the classic blade shape, similar to a Scotty Cameron Newport Select or Ping Anser putter. It has a beautiful milled pattern in the middle of the face but is not milled from toe to heel. It offers a basic single-line alignment aid. This putter will be a good fit for players with a natural arc swing plane. It seems to play slightly on the lighter-weight side of milled putters, so this will be a good fit for golfers who like lighter-weight putters. I had put on a Superstroke Pistol 1.0 grip, then placed a 100g counterbalance weight in the shaft, and loaded the bottom of the putter up in lead tape to make it nice and heavy. The feel and roll off this putter is incredible!

Forgiveness

3/5
gave 3 of 5 stars. This putter is meant for more advanced players. When I consistently find the center of the face, the distance and roll are controllable. Off-center hits don't perform as well as when I strike the center of the clubface. Distance control and starting line are slightly affected when hits are too close to the toe or heel.

Alignment

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. This putter has a classic blade-style shape. The heel-toe weighted blade will be best for golfers whose strokes have a moderate arc and face rotation. Looking over it, the square design with clean lines help me get a good line with the ball and target. The singular white top line in the middle of the face towards the back of the blade gives me a good alignment aid.

Grip

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. The green and white color design meshes well with the shaft and overall color scheme of the putter. The midsize grip feels like the perfect size and adds to the overall balance and feel the putter provides putt after putt. The material is smooth and made of higher quality. Easy to grip and feels good on my hands.

Feel

3/5
gave 3 of 5 stars. When I consistently find the center of the putter face, the strike's feel is very pure. The putt roll comes off the face cleanly and consistently holds the line. Hits further from the middle don't come off the clubface as clean, and the hit feels less pure.

Balance

4/5
gave 4 of 5 stars. This putter feels so smooth to hold and strike putt after putt. The combination of the weighting between the clubhead, shaft, and grip is very balanced. Not one part of the club feels too heavy or too light. It all feels like one piece from the grip, down the shaft, and to the clubhead. The multi-material shaft gives this putter a unique balance and feel.
