The Curated Take
4.1/5
The Rossignol Black Ops Dreamers are versatile skis suited for intermediate skiers looking to improve. These skis offer excellent edge hold for carving on groomers due to their rocker/camber/rocker profile. They have great float in light powder due to the rocker in the tips and provide a fun, playful experience due to a poplar wood core. Their durability stems from Rossignol's proven craftsmanship, incorporating a fiberglass laminate for reinforcement. However, they struggle in deep powder. With easy turn initiation and adaptability across all mountain terrains, these skis offer a balanced blend of performance and fun.

Expert Reviews of the Rossignol Black Ops W Dreamer Skis + Xpress 10 GW Bindings
Clare W This ski is great for the intermediate skier looking to up their game and ski across the whole resort! The Rossignol Black Ops Dreamers are designed for versatility, and will give skiers great maneuverability in the trees, awesome turn initiation on the groomers, and some rocker in the tips and tails for added playfulness. With the partial twin tips on these guys, they can even work on their backward skiing! I've skied all over the East Coast with these skis, with their only weakness being deep powder, but if someone is looking for some float on light powder, they'll give them that. This is a great ski for intermediates looking to enhance their skill set.

Flotation
3/5
Clare W gave 3 of 5 stars. Unfortunately, these skis won't be able to keep up in really deep snow, but they do have a good amount of rocker in the tips, so floating in some fresh East Coast snow will be fine. I have a lot of fun with these in 6 to 12 inches of fresh powder!
High Speed Stability
4/5
Clare W gave 4 of 5 stars. For a playful all-mountain ski, the Black Ops Dreamers are pretty stable. Rossignol put vibration-dampening technology in the tips of these skis, which reduces and absorbs ski vibration when skiing fast or on bumpy terrain. In addition, the core of this ski is poplar wood, which is a more stable and dampening core material than others. There might be better options for skiers who want to race down the groomers. The Black Ops ski is slower than a ski designed to tear up the groomers. However, with a more all-mountain approach, skiers will feel pretty stable across all kinds of terrain with this ski.
Carving
4/5
Clare W gave 4 of 5 stars. While this ski is not necessarily designed for high-speed carving, the rocker/camber/rocker profile of these skis provides excellent edge hold for a skier who likes to ski the groomers more frequently. The turning radius is in the middle range (11m, 13m, 16m, and 19m for ski sizes 130cm, 140cm, 150cm, and 160cm, respectively), which is great for an all-mountain ski because it gives the skier control in different types of terrain. I've found these skis to have great carving ability when skiing in icy groomer conditions.
Playfulness
4/5
Clare W gave 4 of 5 stars. The poplar wood core provides this ski with medium pop and flex. Paired with rocker in the tips and tails, this makes this ski fun and playful, especially in some light powder. This ski should not be overlooked if someone wants something that can float and maintain responsiveness on the snow. With the partial twin tips on these, skiers can even start working on their backward skiing!
Durability
5/5
Clare W gave 5 of 5 stars. As far as durability goes, Rossignol has a great reputation. They've been making skis for almost a century and know what they're doing. This ski has a strong poplar wood core surrounded by a fiberglass laminate for reinforcement. Together, these materials create a stable, durable ski that maintains responsiveness for years. I haven't had any issues with mine yet!
Turn Ease
5/5
Clare W gave 5 of 5 stars. This ski is exceptionally easy to turn. Rossignol designed the Black Ops Dreamers for all-mountain terrain, and turn ease was a priority. Thanks in part to this ski's rocker/camber/rocker profile, I have found these skis to be easy carvers on the groomers and snappy in the trees. The more central mount point of the bindings also helps with ease of turning. As a playful skier who likes to turn a lot, this has been a really fun ski for me.
Versatility
4/5
Clare W gave 4 of 5 stars. This ski is very versatile. It holds its edge on the icy East Coast groomers and can float on top of several inches of powder. In the trees, it is snappy and playful. Its only weakness is deep powder, where it doesn't have quite enough width to stay on top. Despite that, this ski is tons of fun all over the mountain.
FAQs
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Clare W My favorite moment with these skis was right after I bought them. I skied a couple of days on the groomers with them, and finally, we got 6-8 inches of fresh snow to open up the glades. My first run through the woods with these skis was awesome. Maneuvering through the trees and floating on that light powder was something I hadn't been able to do before owning these skis.
Why did you choose this product?
Clare W I chose this product because I wanted a ski that could easily take me across the whole mountain and not break the bank. Being on a budget isn't always easy as a skier, but these skis were exactly what I needed at just the right price.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Clare W These skis are around $400 brand new, including bindings. The price is very hard to beat if someone is looking for a reliable intermediate ski. Other options similar to these are typically $450-600 a pair.
What do you love about this product?
Clare W I love that I can go straight from carving the groomers to maneuvering in the woods or even try a little terrain park. They allow me to do almost anything I want on the mountain, and I love it. These skis are fun, playful, and easy to use.
