The Curated Take
4.3/5
The Cobra LTDx Fairway Wood, with its Hot Face Technology and carbon body, provides excellent distance performance, especially for golfers who value distance over extreme accuracy. Its low launch and low spin enable notable rollout, making it ideal for average swing speed players. Despite its muted sound, it offers a pleasant experience, providing excellent feedback on every strike. Its accuracy and workability, however, might not satisfy golfers needing tighter dispersion. As a result, the Cobra LTDx is best suited for low to mid-handicap players seeking distance over forgiveness.

Expert Reviews of the Cobra LTDx Fairway Wood
Ari T The Cobra LTDx Fairway Wood is a great option for someone who wants a very long-hitting fairway wood with a neutral flight. It is very easy to launch off almost any lie due to the contoured sole. It is mid-spin so most people will see more carry and more distance. Not for someone who needs help avoiding a block or slice miss. Not for someone who needs a lower spin.
Paul Zarate I was having trouble hitting the long irons, and I did not like the feel of hybrids. My local pro suggested I switch out the long irons for fairway woods, and it’s the best advice I’ve received for my long game. I replaced my 4-iron with a Cobra LTDx 7-wood. I call it the "heaven wood." It’s soft on contact, high launching, and lands soft. That 210-220 long par 3 is now reachable, bringing a new level of course management off the tee box on short par 4s. The Cobra LTDx Fairway Woods is an overlooked game improvement club that should be in the bag.
Zack Caudill The Cobra LTDx Fairway Wood is an absolute show-stopper in terms of raw distance numbers. Though it's definitely not the most forgiving fairway wood I've tested over the last year, it is, without a doubt, the longest. The decision to replace my old 3-wood with the Cobra LTDx really came down to weighing the pros and cons of forgiveness versus distance. The 20+ yard increase that the Cobra provided meant more for my game than the forgiveness of my old wood. For the low to mid-handicap player, adding this rocket launcher to one's bag should be easy. This may not be the right club for a mid to high-handicap player or a golfer who struggles with consistent contact with their fairway woods.

Workability
3/5
Zack Caudill gave 3 of 5 stars. This LTDx launches low, spins low, and rolls out a ton. That result seems to be true whether I stand on the tee box, perched on some Kentucky bluegrass down the fairway, or even in the light rough. The biggest drawback from multiple rounds of testing is that the dispersion isn't what I'd like it to be. The accuracy is just okay. The workability overall could be better.
Paul Zarate gave 3 of 5 stars. I have the draw bias model, so this wood moves right to left. It was a little dramatic at first, but I switched the weights around on the sole and moved the loft to the lowest setting. This adjustment made the draw bias less dramatic, and I was able to hit my usual baby draw.
Forgiveness
4/5
Zack Caudill gave 3 of 5 stars. There are more forgiving fairway woods on the market. Still, the performance of the hot face technology inside this mostly carbon body design definitely produced great distance even from poor strikes. If the Cobra LTDx had been a little more accurate with those mishits and had a tighter dispersion on well-struck shots, it would have moved to the top of my forgiving fairway wood list.
Paul Zarate gave 5 of 5 stars. It gets me to the target whether I hit it flush or off the toe. I play this club often from 200-220 yards away. The forgiveness gives me confidence at address that it’s the right club to get me to the target. I also use it as a Fairway Finder from the tee.
Feel
4/5
Zack Caudill gave 4 of 5 stars. What an outstanding experience the Cobra LTDx provides in terms of how it feels from address all the way to post-swing. The carbon build distributes the weight throughout this club beautifully. Whether from the deck, off the tee, or in the rough, the combined carbon and hot face give golfers instant feedback on where they've struck the ball, especially on flushed swings.
Paul Zarate gave 4 of 5 stars. It feels pure when hit flush—minimal loss of distance when I miss the sweet spot. I miss off the toe, but it still feels solid at contact. I prefer the clubhead of the fairway wood to a hybrid to gain more pure contact from the fairway and the tee.
Sound
5/5
Zack Caudill gave 5 of 5 stars. I'm not sure if the carbon build or the hot face technology gives the Cobra LTDx such a muted tone compared to its peers, but I love it. The sound changes slightly depending on where on the clubface one strikes the ball, but overall, it's much more pleasant to the ear than the high-pitched ting generated from other fairway woods.
Paul Zarate gave 4 of 5 stars. When I hit it pure from the fairway, it sounds like a big swoosh. It does not have a tinny sound at all, although it does sound flat when I hit it off the toe, which is my usual miss. I like the powerful swoosh it makes when I flush it.
Launch
5/5
Zack Caudill gave 5 of 5 stars. It's no wonder this Cobra LTDx is an absolute rocket launcher in the hands of even the most average swing speed players. The launch angle is low and cuts through the air wonderfully. If you are looking for a steep angle of decent for a short rollout, it's best to look elsewhere. This fairway wood rolls forever.
Distance
5/5
Zack Caudill gave 5 of 5 stars. If one values distance above all other categories, the Cobra LTDx is the leader in the clubhouse. Having used one of the most forgiving 3 woods for most of 2022, switching to the LTDx was an adjustment for consistency. What made the switch completely worth it was the absolutely insane increase in total distance that came with this club. If someone is looking for the longest fairway wood available, they should consider the Cobra LTDx. It's a rocket launcher.
Paul Zarate gave 5 of 5 stars. I swapped out my 4-iron for a 7-wood. This wood hits the number from the fairway. I can reach short par 5s in two with the confidence this club brings to my golf game.
FAQs
What was your favorite moment with this gear?
Zack Caudill My first swing of the Cobra LTDx was not only from the rough, but I found myself drenched on a rainy day, standing over the ball on a downhill side stance with the ball just above waist high. Normally, I'd reach for an iron in that position, but it was a par 5. I was 250 yards out and had a brand new 3-wood in my bag. Of course, I went for it. I want to say I landed a pin high on the green; I did not. The outcome on that par 5 was a short chip on and one putt in for a birdie. That shot, a low penetrating 215 yards that rolled forever, was the "this is the one" moment for me and the LTDx 3-wood.
Why did you choose this product?
Zack Caudill I went to my local pro shop looking for a hybrid. I had never owned a hybrid, and after testing a few, the Cobra LTDx hybrid came out on top. I was so impressed with the hybrid I went back to try the fairway woods. After just a handful of swings, I was completely blown away by the massive increase in distance I experienced compared to the 3-wood in my bag. After a very brief deliberation with my inner golfer, the 20+ extra yards that the Cobra had unlocked for me won out over the more forgiving but much shorter 3-wood I had been gaming for a few years.
Paul Zarate I was looking for an alternative to a 4-iron and hybrid. I opted for a 7-wood, which is exceptionally forgiving, launches high, and lands soft.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Zack Caudill This extremely sharp, lightweight carbon body and hot face technology, along with its exceptional performance on the course, makes the Cobra one of the very best in its class of fairway woods. The overall quality far exceeds the mid-level price tag that comes with the Cobra LTDx series.
What do you love about this product?
Zack Caudill The Cobra LTDx is a beautifully designed fairway wood with excellent overall sound and feel. What sets it apart from its peers and convinced me to give it a permanent spot amongst my 14 clubs is the unbelievable power this low (rocket)launching, low-spinning design generates. The LTDx cuts through the air and just keeps going.
Paul Zarate It launches high and lands soft. The draw bias keeps my minis to the left. It has become the Fairway Finder in my bag.
