Brand Claims
What does Line claim about this ski? Line claims that this is an entry level park ski that can also ski a little bit outside the park.
Overall Impressions
What is your overall impression of the ski? My overall impression of the Honey Badger was that it was super nimble and easy edge to edge. It should be on the radar for anybody getting into the park or anybody getting into skiing that’s curious about park skiing. Unfortunately, for taller or heavier riders, the longest length the Honey Badgers come in is a 177 cm length. It’s definitely geared towards the younger riders and athletes that are looking to get into some park skiing.
How does the shape of the ski affect the way it rides? The Honey Badger has a 92 mm waist, an Aspen veneer core, and a carbon band band throughout the ski - this created a really good pop.
Carving
What is the edge hold like? It’s an easy edge to edge ski that has lots of camber underfoot, so it held an edge great on the hard pack I was skiing today.
What about dampness? Any chatter in the skis? If you're a taller or heavier rider, you're going to get a little bit of movement in the tips here on the 177 length when carving at high speeds. The ski is just not really designed to ski fast for bigger, heavier riders.
Freestyle
How is it for freestyle skiing? When it comes to freestyle, the Honey Badgers are right at home. This is just an awesome ski if you're learning to ski switch, wanting to learn some spins, maybe get past that 180, and finally nail that 360. The Honey Badgers are definitely going to be a ski that can help you get your skiing up to the next level.
Is it good for skiing switch? It's a true twin ski. Forwards, backwards, upside down - you're going to have a blast on the Honey Badgers!
Freeride
How is it in powder? The Honey Badgers unfortunately don't thrive off trail in any kind of deeper snow pack which just has a lot to do with the 92 mm waist. It does not have a lot of early rise and has a lot of camber. It's a ski that's designed for more groomer and park specific skiing.
How is it skiing in the trees? How is its maneuverability? If it's a harder day and you're going through a mogul field, you'll find that these are quick edge to edge and easy to turn, but it's going to be pretty forgiving in that harder stuff. So, for skiing the trees and moguls, they can kind of do it. But, where these really shine is on the groomers.
Recommendations
Who would you recommend these skis to? I recommend the Line Honey Badgers to any of those groms out there, the younger guys or gals, that are wanting to get into park skiing. These are a really approachable, great park ski.
Who should avoid these skis, there are better options out there for them? If you've been skiing the park for a few years or you're a taller, heavier park skier, the Honey Badgers aren't going to be the right ski for you.
Skis work differently for different types of skiers. If you are wondering whether the Honey Badger 92 is the right ski for you, chat with Hayden or any other Skiing Experts here on Curated, and they’ll put together free, personalized ski recommendations on the best skis for your needs.
