What does Rossignol claim about this board? Rossignol claims that this is one of the best freestyle boards to learn and progress on. The Myth offers easy, budget-friendly fun for entry level riders. The softer twin freestyle flex provides an enjoyable experience.

Overall Impressions

What is your overall impression of this board? My overall impression of this board is that out of a lot of the boards that I tested today, it just felt the happiest. It felt the most playful; it wanted to be buttering, be pressing, be jumping up in the air, be playing in the park. However, that doesn't mean that it couldn't hang all over the mountain, but the flex on this is very soft.

Carving

How does it turn? Turning on this board is super easy. The rocker in here really helps the turn and helps that edge to edge movement. You're going to be able to turn on a dime.

What is the edge hold like? The biggest thing we struggle with when we're first learning how to snowboard is catching our edges. So the profile on this thing is going to be that happy medium. It's got a little bit of rocker to give you that catch free feel, but it's got a little bit of camber to bite into the snow As I was carving this board, I did try and get it up onto a high edge angle and unfortunately, I did fall.

How damp is the board? Do you feel any underfoot chatter? This board is definitely damp.

How does it perform at speed? There are definitely some speed limits to this board. At high speeds, it does become a little unstable.

Freestyle

How is it for freestyle snowboarding? It definitely thrived doing more of the freestyle movement, whether that was on low angle terrain or peaking it into the park.

Could you speak about playfulness and pop? This board does have a little bit of pop in it, so you can do the jumps while you're also doing the boxes and the rails. You're going to probably want to use this board as your more playful park board.

How is it for buttering? This profile is going to make it super easy to butter press, get into those freestyle movements, do some spins and just be really playful with your board.

How is it on jumps? Since I talked about how this board does pop a little bit, I did take it over some jumps. The landing was super absorbed. I really enjoyed that because no one wants to go up in the air and have an uncomfortable landing.

Freeride

How is it in powder? I didn't get to take this thing into too much powder, however, with the rocker, it could float a little bit, but it wouldn't be my go-to powder board by any means

How is it in uneven terrain and chunder? The minute you get into uneven terrain or you pick up a little bit of speed, it definitely doesn't feel as stable.

What terrain is this board good for? The best terrain for this board is going to be low angle, mellower blues and greens and a lot of park riding.

What kind of terrain should riders avoid with it? You can definitely get into some bumps and a little bit more of that technical drain. But I think you might struggle a little bit and realize that you probably want to be on a different board for those skills.

Recommendations

Who would you recommend this board to? This board does have a 70:30 ratio of rocker to camber, which is why I would highly, highly recommend this board for a beginner rider who is really looking for a confidence inspiring snowboard under their feet. Also, it is perfect for that beginner rider who's looking to make those first turns, that thinks they want to spend a little bit of time being playful and being in the park. An intermediate rider who might have a little bit stiffer of an all mountain board could use this board if they were looking more for just a park freestyle board for their quiver.

Who should avoid this board? Those who want to perform hard charging, hard carving should avoid this board. There are a lot of other boards that are going to be better for carving.
