Brand Claims

What does CAPiTA claim about this board? The brand claims that the CAPiTA Paradise is the board for a whole day adventure on the entire resort. It's got generous rocker in the tip and tail to float through pow and blast through chop, a smooth medium 4.5 flex to lay some sweet turns and a true trend shape to show off a little bit on some end of the day park laps.

Overall Impressions

What is your overall impression of this board? My overall impression of the CAPiTA Paradise is that it is a super fun, all-mountain freestyle-oriented snowboard.

Carving

How does it turn? This board turned very, very well and that could be because it does have some reverse camber leading up into that nose.. Sometimes on a beginner board that's a directional twin versus a true twin, which the Paradise is a true twin, with a little bit more rocker in the nose especially, it can make it very, very easy to turn. However, this board almost fits into a different realm, and I was actually impressed at how easy it was to turn because even though I do think this can be approached by a beginner rider, I also think an intermediate to even advanced rider that's looking to hone in a few skills could really benefit from this board.

What is the edge hold like? The edge hold was great on this. There was not one minute where I felt squirrely, where I felt like I was going to fall out of anything.

How damp is the board? Do you feel any underfoot chatter? It felt like this board was quite damp. I felt like it absorbed mostly everything that was underneath me, even when I did get into more of that uneven terrain. I was kind of expecting the softer flex on this to not hold me as well, but it actually didn't have a crazy amount of chatter.

How does it perform at speed? My one negative is that it did have a little bit of chatter at those higher speeds where it just didn't feel super duper comfortable. But it is only a 4.5 out of ten on the flex scale. The fact that it even held up a little bit on some of those blue and black runs a little bit more of that technical terrain is pretty impressive for a deck like this.

Freestyle

How is it for freestyle snowboarding? It really helped me progress and made me feel like I could get to that next level in specifically my freestyle riding.

Could you speak about playfulness and pop? How is it for buttering? This board is like out of the world, playful. It is super pressable. You can butter, you can nose press, tail press, you can do them on features, you can do them on the snow. You can definitely feel the flex points on the board, which is really cool, so you can really lock into a nose rise, you can lock into a tail press and that thing just kind of wants to come up. I would say it does have enough pop in it to be fine on the jumps.

How is it on jumps? Every jump that I went off, I landed. In fact, I feel like I stomped everything. I felt really secure coming off every single rail. I was able to practice some 180s over jumps and get some nice air on some of the smaller features. Even with that flex on it, it really does have control in those landings.

Freeride

How is it for freeride snowboarding? I do spend a lot of time outside of the park and usually a board like this can't hang, and this was the complete opposite. This board could hang and this board was even taking some of my more aggressive runs.

How is it in powder? I would probably say that on a powder day it wouldn't be the best for floating, and there's definitely some other boards in the line that would be a little bit more, give you a little bit more of that floaty feeling.

How is it in uneven terrain and chunder? It even held up a little bit on some of those blue and black runs, a little bit more of that technical terrain, which is pretty impressive for a deck like this.

How is it riding in the trees? How is its maneuverability? I was able to go through tighter trees, I was able to go through bumps with no issue.

What terrain is this board good for? This is going to fit into my quiver for a park board, a freestyle oriented snowboard that also can rack an entire mountain, if that's what you're into.

What kind of terrain should riders avoid with it? This is definitely not going to be my powder board.

Recommendations

Who would you recommend this board to? I would recommend this board to a beginner snowboarder who has already learned how to link their turns but wants to focus a little bit more on freestyle things. I wanna also recommend this board for someone like me, someone who's looking for a park deck in their quiver because they do a little bit more all mountain or free riding type of days, but they want something that is fun and playful.

Who should avoid this board, there are other better options out there for them? No one..
