Expert Reviews of the Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi Driving Iron
Nate Cox My 3-iron has always been my go-to club when I needed to find a fairway. I have fairway woods, but I have always had more confidence in hitting an iron off the tee when a tee shot was demanding. This is a contender for a spot in my bag. I love the black look, the feel off the face, and the versatility. I have confidence hitting the ball off the tee and off of the turf into the green. This would fit any player who struggles to launch the ball and is looking for a 5-wood replacement.
Jasper Price The Mizuno Fli-Hi is a unique club that golfers of all skill levels can play. One can get a 2/3/4 for a driving/utility iron for highly skilled golfers. For mid/high handicappers, this Fli-Hi can be used as a bridge from irons to hybrids. The Fli-Hi is versatile because it can be used in just about any condition on the course, from tight lies to thick lies. This iron provides a bridge between a hybrid and an iron that can benefit a wide range of golfers. Its sleek black finish gives off an intimidating, stunning look that grabs people's attention. It's coupled with a face that includes Harmonic Impact Technology, giving it a unique sound, unlike any other club, when struck—somewhere between an iron and a hybrid.

Workability
4/5
Jasper Price gave 4 of 5 stars. It has the ability to work the ball, but it is nowhere close to how I can work a standard 3-iron. The club still allows me to work the ball up and down and left and right, but it's not as exaggerated as an iron.
Forgiveness
5/5
Jasper Price gave 5 of 5 stars. This club has a lot of bounce and makes the possibility of chunking the ball much smaller. The only real mishit I've seen with this iron is low and right from low and off the toe. Overall, the club is very forgiving, with moment of inertia from just about anywhere on the face.
Feel
5/5
Jasper Price gave 5 of 5 stars. The feel of a flush shot with this club is one of the best feels I have experienced with any driving iron. The club can still give me feedback on all mishits, too, so I can feel where on the face I hit every single shot, but I do not get the sting like from an iron.
Sound
5/5
Jasper Price gave 5 of 5 stars. This club has a similar design to the 225, but the back is a bit bigger, and the face resembles a hybrid. The Harmonic Impact Technology creates a special head-turning sound when hit flushed. It sounds like a mixture of a hybrid and iron, very unique.
Distance
5/5
Jasper Price gave 5 of 5 stars. This club has the face of a hybrid but the back similar to the MP 225. So, a hollow head and a hot face still make the ball jump off the face. It creates speed and spin, which makes the ball fly high, go far, and land soft.
FAQs
Why did you choose this product?
Jasper Price I got the Mizuno Fli-Hi because it was a mix between an iron and a hybrid. I do not like how hybrids are set up and don't want to work the ball all that much from 230 out. With this club, I can consistently hit a high shot that works at most 20 yards left or right. For someone with a stock 225-yard 4-iron, only a few courses require me to have creativity beyond that number. I can hit it out of thick rough and pinch it off of tight light, making it more versatile than a hybrid.
What is the value for the money versus other options?
Jasper Price This club has a solid price point for how unique the product is. Most utility irons have an industry-standard design for their driving irons, and the face on this product makes it so much different than the rest of the utility club market that they could sell it for more.
